Does it really differ all that much from Beatbo, (which has been an enormous hit as gifts)? Thanks.

We have Beatbo, Beatbowwow, and Rockit. Beatbo and Beatbowwow are the WORST! They are so annoying. The flashing lights are bound to give kids seizures. The mindless songs are overstimulating. They live in a box in the closet. Rockit has way more options and features. The songs are educational. But the biggest difference is it's interactive. You can talk to him and he talks back. Rockit has been my daughter favorite toy since she was 5 months and now at almost two years old she still plays with him every day.

I received this when my daughter was 6 months. At approximately what age should I switch it to stage 2 and then to stage 3?

Hello Jessica I went to fisher price website and found out with this toy starting on level 1 introduces your child to alphabet, colors, numbers, phrases. Level 2 shows how much your little one has learned. Level 3 is pretend time getting your child to laugh and chatter bottom line there is no set age to switch levels.

How do i recording voice on here?

Push down on one of the hands .I think in level 1 . And the belly turns red and you record.

The songs very short, like 3-5 seconds. Then you have to press something again. Is mine defective or is that how it works?

That is not how the product is suppose to work. They recommend changing the batteries to higher quality ones. I wonder if it’s not a current draw situation. Also if that doesn’t fix the issue don’t worry it’s not something YOU are doing wrong! They are not acknowledging it publicly yet but there are factory defects preventing it from coming out of demo mode. They are replacing ours free of charge. Hope this helps. ‭1 (800) 524-8697‬
