Untreated well water will contain sediment, which if a sediment filter is not used in front of this filter, it will plug up prematurely, and you do not want to use this $125 filter as a $35 sediment filter. So you need to use our Home Master Multi-gradient sediment filter as the first stage. You must use a carbon filter as a post filter. This filter can impart a bit of a taste on the water as part of its purification process, and the carbon filter will take care of it. Also the carbon filter's taste and odor removal characteristics complement and backstop the iron filter's to polish off excess breakthrough.
