Other reading rulers just have a line. These have a bar which can be used to block out text above or below. This is a bigger help for my dyslexic readers who need to block out text.From watching my readers, it's pretty 50/50.1. Some use the bar to block text <below> where they're reading, so the ruler is under the text.2. Some use the bar to block text >above< where they're reading, so the ruler is above the text.3. My non-dyslexic readers often use the ruler just to follow along and keep their place when we're reading.I like to read ahead, so I like the second way.

Very helpful for students who struggle with reading and need to read line by k\line without losing their space.

Bought these for my classroom. They work great for regular size print but for my students who need things printed a bit larger the line is too small. Overall though these have been a great asset to my classroom
