Is it possible to have this always turned on while attached to my scooter, but only activate the gps service if my scooter is stolen?

Dear customer, You cannot activate the device unless you have it in your hands. If the device is in your stolen car there is no way to activate it. So it is useless to purchased the device in the hope that if your car gets stolen you can activate it after the fact. This will not work. Best regards

How long will battery last on one charge?

If you want the battery to last 30 days can do it if you don’t need real time tracking, by tracking 6-8 times per day only. In order to set it you need to use the 4th tab on the device setting using the desktop app (this setting is not found on the phone app).

Will this work were there are no roads? say 25 square acre's of farm land?

Tracki GPS tracker will work as long as there is a GSM cellular phone signal, mostly provided by AT&T and T-Mobile. If the coverage on this area is exclusively only with Verizon and not AT&T or T-Mobile, the device will not be able to report its location via the Internet channel which comes included in the device pricing.
