Takes some Effort, but It Really Works
I should have taken some before and after photos, but the headlight covers on our Subaru Crosstrek had significant clouding and with parts looking like there was a white buildup on top of the covers. I did some research and decided to give this kit a try. You need a drill to use the kit and it would be best if you have some speed control on the drill, but any drill can be used if you are careful. The process involve wet sanding with a pad that goes on the included drill head. You start with the 500 grit pads, then when you have worked the entire cover, you proceed to 800 grit pads and finally finish with the single 3000 grit pad to do the final polish. The kit includes 4 or 5 of the 500 and 800 grit pads, but only one of the 3000 grit. It takes some effort and you should plan on working on the headlight covers for a couple of hours. I think if you did this with a manual kit it would take far, far longer. It is very important to read the directions thoroughly before you start doing anything and get all the items you need prepped. At the end of the sanding process, you have a lightly foggy headlight cover that should have been smoothed from any sanding marks from the sanding pads. Once you get to this point, you need to really clean the headlights (you should also have cleaned them before starting the sanding.) You will also remove the included masking tape that you put around the headlight covers before sanding. Get them really clean and dry. Then you use the included glove an put the first coat of the finish on and let it dry for at least 15 minutes. At several points during the sanding, I wondered if I was going to have a bigger mess than I did at the start, but after using the first of the finishing wipes, you see the amazing results. Follow the directions on using the finishing wipes and after the second coat, make sure not to touch, wet, etc. the headlight covers for 60 minutes. The difference when completed was like night and day. For less than 15 dollars and a couple of hours of your time, you can make the headlight covers look like new. I don't know how long the fix will last, but the headlights still look great after a cross country drive.

Very surprised I was able to save these lights!
I ordered this kit to restore the headlights on a 2003 Dodge Ram. If you’re familiar with these trucks you’ll know that the headlight lenses are not a smooth, easy to work with surface but they actually bulge out ahead of each bulb. This makes them very hard to sand and you have to be patient to get an even finish. The surface of these lights was damaged to the point that they felt like sandpaper when you ran your hand across the plastic lens. The kit worked just as described. I will say that the next time I try to restore lenses that are this badly degraded I would order two kits and use an entire kit per light. I could’ve gotten these to 100% if I had two kits so that I had more sandpaper to work with.Even using just one kit I would say that I was able to restore them to 95%-100% depending on the area of the lens and how bad the damage was.Very happy with the product and the end result.

Forget about toothpaste, WD40, whatever. This product is worth EVERY penny and is amazing!
After trying just about everything under the sun to remove headlight glaze (the the headlights on my wife's care were yellow... and I mean YELLOW), this product worked in ways I didn't imagine. It comes with everything that you need; 3 different grits of sandpaper, with multiple pieces, two new clearcoat packs, and even a glove to keep you from touching the clearcoat. Added bonus; came with enough tape to tape around the headlights to keep from scratching the paint.Overall, it took about 30-40 minutes. Start off dry-sanding with the "Yellow" discs (I used a battery powered drill), and a brief minute of "Hoo-boy" as I watched the headlights get very clouded from the sanding. Then, the white discs, and I watched the previous sand marks start to disappear. Finally, the "blue" disc, with a squirt bottle to wet sand, and I watched the headlights go clear as glass.A quick wipe down with a clean cloth, and apply two coats of the clearcoat (an hour in between coats, that's why you get 2 packets).HOLY SMOKES! These headlights look like NEW. They're clear and amazing, even on a 20+ year old vehicle.Cannot recommend this product enough. It works exactly as described, and will restore even the worst headlights to crystal clear quality!

Cuts sanding time significantly vs hand sanding. Good value. Minor shortcomings.
Worked well for me on a lens i've restored twice before with Sylania kit. The Sylvania restoration lasts about 2-3 years then starts clouding again. I liked the drill based sanding a LOT better than the hand based sanding, but despite 2 layers of tape did manage to cut through and put a small mark in the paint on my bumper so next time 3-4 layers of tape. Not a major issue for me. This kit was good value, fast and efficient. I like that it is possible to buy additional wipes and an additional 3000 grit pad in the "Quick & Easy Headlight Restoration" kit for just $7.I only restored one (large GMC Sierra Denali) headlight because the other side had been replaced with a new lens several years into owning the vehicle. It still looks pretty good. I'll probably restore both sides next time but once it's done, you have to keep doing it every 2-3 years so I'm not doing that side until I really need to. I wiped that side with the wipes though...maybe it will help protect longer having another coat. Or maybe it will destroy it and I'll have to do the full restoration. No matter, this kit looks like enough to do both sides, other than the wipes and possibly the 3000 grit single pad.-1 star for lack of a 2nd glove, lack of a 2nd 3000 grit pad. And it would be nice to be able to buy just the UV Clearcoat packets alone at low cost. But these kits are cost effective and seem to work.Overall satisfied and now I'll just wait to see how long it takes until I have to do it again. Sylvania kit lasted 2-3 years. This say on the box it lasts "up to 2 years" so maybe next time I'll sand with the 3M kit, but buy a bottle of the sylvania clear coat and do that if it lasts better. We'll see.
