Timeless, Aphoristic wisdom
The latest in Shaykh Musa's efforts to allow the those removed from some of our tradition's past luminaries by time, space, and language, to access that wisdom. This particular volume can be read in a single afternoon, but ideally ought not to be.Mull it over as you lie down to sleep, and you will likely have found your mind and spirit processed each of the 46 pieces of advice while your body rested.Like this line, from Abu Turab al-Naskhshi: "Keeping company with evil people leads to assuming evil in those who are good." I don't think I keep company with evil people, but what does it say that I might still assume evil in others?Like so many of the best books, this will give you what you put into it.

Practical & easy read
Short, concise and easy read. Not so easy to implement in our lives though. InshaAllah may Allah make it easy and help us! Loved the reminders in this book. I foresee it being one of those books I refer to again and again for a quick iman jolt when I need one! (Which is often)

Amazing book - should be read with Infamies of the Soul
This is a shorter and more concise book than Infamies of the Soul. Although they are similar in content, the style of this one is more accessible to the beginner and those who are looking for reasonably quick results on their journey of self development. Regular short reflection on each point, one at a time, will really help one reflect on what is going on inside our minds and soul.
