Large but not intrusive of space. Great design and appearance.This is a well made trash can and easy to use in all ways from opening, removing bags and placing new bags.This doesn’t have motion detection or a battery, all manual.We had our Simple Human can we just replaced for 16 years and it only had one small dent, still using in garage, but this one seems even better!

I love this trash can. So worth the money. Came with free trash bags and loved them so much I did purchase more. Even when it is full when you take the bag out you still have room. The red button inside lets you keep the cover from closing so you can take the bag out and put in a new one since all you have to do is just lift the insert and it stays up about 6 inches. No taking the whole insert out! This can is against my wall and the lid does not hit the wall

SimpleHuman trash cans were built to last. Case in point, ours is still going on strong after six years. We loved ours so much that we recently pulled the trigger on another in the same model to finally replace our recycling bin. Now the trash and recycling looked classier side by side and not mismatched. My gripe with them though was how easy the slightest bit of dust will show everyday. I felt like I’m wiping the exterior of the can more than once daily. In addition, any slight scratches, imperfections, dents will show and thus - be mindful of handling. Also, they’re pricey but they do last though - so there’s that.

This trashcan is fantastic. I cannot believe I spent more than a hundred dollars on a trash can but my new dog is cannot stay out of the garbage! It's been a battle since December with two different trashcans. We ended up locking up the trash in the bathroom adjacent to the kitchen. He cannot get into this can. It's nice and heavy and he cannot knock it over. He cannot lift the lid with his nose. I really like how the insert pulls out. it makes it so easy to clean! I didn't realize the can is wider than the typical garbage bag. I think a normal kitchen garbage bag from the store could be stretched to fit, but. bought the pack of simple human bags. The bags are a little larger than a typical kitchen garbage bag. They are very sturdy! I feel like the price difference is minimal between the simple human bags vs name brand bags from the grocery, when one considers they are a little bit larger. This was a good purchase.

The can is very good quality except for the thin cover . It closes perfectly but is not the same quality of the rest of the can. I would certainty suggest it to my friends.

This is quite the trash can! I really like it. I had seen a larger version at a friend’s house and she told me all about it. I’d been looking for a new smaller can, but had no luck. When I saw it came in the 38” size, I measured and it came perfectly sized for my space. With all the little tricks that make it pleasant: soft close top, foot pedal, red switch inside for locking the top open, and you don’t have to pull the entire unit out to release the bag.They give you 10 bags and I ordered their brand. I’m sick of bags that snag and tear. The bags are thick (mil) and don’t leak. I’m happy with my choice.

I've had the Simplehuman 5L container for over 5 years and it still works perfectly, the stainless is high quality and heavy enough so that it has no dents or marks.... which is more than I can say for my brand new oven and refrigerator. Of course there is some wear, maybe a couple of small spots where the clear coat came off but I'm not easy, I wear hiking boots most of the time and it still looks great. Frankly, I intend to buy another when this one finally gives up and hopefully, by then, they still make them with the same high quality.... When I move I'll leave the stove and refrig and take the can.

This is my 2nd purchase, but not as a replacement. I've my first one for about 5 or so years. It is still working perfectly. The finish has remained unblemished even though it has gone through many cleanings.We decided to use the manufacturers trash bags. It is compatible with regular trash bags and I used them for the first year or so without any issues. We just find the manufacturers bags are a much better quality and I haven't had a single one bust or burst.A really nice addition to this item is parts are readily available from the manufacturer. You can replace anything that gets damaged or breaks. I haven't had anything break and we don't go easy on it.
