My go-to seed, loved by a variety of wild birds.
This has become my go-to seed for my outdoor feeders, and I have tried many different brands and formulations over the years. I live in west central Florida along the nature coast and our resident and migratory birds of all varieties seem to love it. It's base is small peanut fragments, but it also has significant bits of other nuts and seeds, consistent with the published ingredients list. Also has no millet, which birds in our area do not seem to like. In any blends I've bought with millet it in, the millet goes to waste. This nut and seed blend is good on its own, but I mix it half-and-half with sunflower seed and top it off with mealworms. Our feeders are always filled with birds - from small chickadees, finches and wrens (for whom the small pieces are ideal) to bluebirds, cardinals, several varieties of woodpeckers, mockingbirds, blue jays, doves and others. They go through a lot of it in the winter and spring through primary migration and breeding periods, less during the rest of the year. We have a pair of bluebirds in our bluebird house that have raised successful broods for a few years in our bluebird box and they visit our feeders for this food often when feeding their chicks.According to Amazon, I've purchased 26 bags of this seed since at least February 2021 (It's now May 2025). Every bag purchased has been well-sealed, fresh and dry. When you open the bag it smells like fresh nuts. It holds up well - no mold, insects, etc. - even though it's kept stored in a plastic bin outside on our back porch in the Florida heat. It's a bit more expensive than other available seeds, but it's no-waste and is completely consumed - no unwanted/unpreferred seed, no mess of shells on the ground under the feeders.

Great birdseed and way less waste and lasts longer!
This states that there is less waste. And this is true as all the seeds and nuts are already shelled. But I was not expecting this bag to last as long as it did. I bought my first bag of this in September. And I ordered my second bag this month in June. I’m in central Florida and we have Blue Jays, chickadees, titmice, Cardinals, etc. They all love this mix.

Three Bird Feeding Tips I Learned, and as to the Food? It's Worth the Price.
I have been feeding birds for ages. My parents fed birds. We are bird people! I will say it took me a while to adapt to a few things that have changed my whole bird feeding view, especially after having running battles with squirrels for a very long time. So, here goes:1. I bought a Slinky. Yes, all those videos about using Slinkys on your poles to keep the squirrels at bay do work. Since adding them to our two poles, the squirrels just looking longingly up but no matter how much they try, they have not figured out how to defeat it.2. I bit the bullet, after reading many reviews, to pay more for a no-waste bird food. This food is more expensive then other brands, but let me give it the praise it deserves: I go through MUCH LESS food now. Why? Because the birds are not pushing the garbage seeds out to get to what they want. In addition, for some of the birds, like the nuthatches, that only like certain seeds, the ones they still push out are eaten by the juncos and sparrows, as well as the squirrels who poke around underneath the feeder. I have two feeders, and it's been a month and I still have half a bag left of this bird food. Also, I moved the feeders up to our deck, and there is NO SEED LEFT underneath. It is all eaten by other birds or squirrels. No clean up. The juncos will even go under the deck to check for any seed that feel through. I am a true believer now of spending a little more for a much better result, as the value you get per pound is fantastic.3. I bought capscasin suet squares. A little more per pack, but birds are not bothered and the squirrels learn quickly to avoid them. I now have woodpeckers and chickadees happily feeding away without competing with the squirrels. Another example of spend a $1 more and use less overall. So, as to the seed, RUN don't WALK to order this stuff. It is well made, seems fresh, and it's just a good value for your dollar in the long run.

A product well met by my local fauna, but comes in non-recyclable plastic.
I don't like about this the only thing I don't like about this product is that it comes in plastic instead of paper.

Changed my tune, this stuff is great.
I initially reviewed and said the birds weren’t eating this. That has changed.Looks like the birds just needed to adjust to the new feed. They are all back and eating now.Best part, hardly any mess on our patio. Where before we had tons of seed mess on the patio that was attracting rats, so we’d have rat poop on the patio in the morning, now there is no seed on the ground and no rat poop. This stuff is great. Highly recommend. Just keep in mind it might take a few days before your local birds get used to the change and really use the feeder. Also, the birds won’t hang around as much. Whereas before they needed to hang around shelling seeds and picking out the good bits, now they land, grab a couple bits, eat, and they are off. You still see them but they don’t just hang out at the feeder for extended periods like with the cheaper seed.

No messy shells - birds love it
Birds love this seed and it does not leave empty shells! No mess - totally edible (for birds). High quality. I hate cleaning up left over empty shells but love feeding the birds. This mix is perfect.

What birds like
My birds don’t like this bird feed. My regular bird feed was out of stock. I hope I will be able to get my regular bird feed back.

Just try it, your birds will thank you!!
The birds adore this stuff. I started to call it crack for birds, but I thought Amazon would slap my hands for that. But seriously, the birds are diving into the feeder before I finish pouring in the food. That's how much they love it.
