Can I use this to connect junior faucet (3/4" female - 27) on one end and washer hose with standard 15/16" male - 27 threading on other end?

I am having the same problem as the last person. The adapter fits my faucet but not the hose. My hose has a shallow thread and there is washer and pipe on the inside that can't be removed. The adapter just sits on top.

what is the internal diameter of this addapter

It's a true 5/8 inside diameter. I just measured again

Does it require any washers?

Yes. It comes with a washer that was too thick for the female end of the hose I have to connect to the short male end of the adapter. I tried using a thinner washer I had but it made a mess. Good idea but shortsighted design. DO NOT BUY

How does this work? Do you have to screw the hose onto the faucet or does it snap on & off?

Screw adapter onto faucet, then screw hose onto adapter.
