I have tried two different other knobs, but both eventually get so loose, I constantly have to re-mount. Anyone have such difficulties with this one?

It took me two tries to get it tight enough not to slip. I had to use the rubber "spacer" and it was difficult to get the screw to thred but it works great.

Is this a quick release or do I have to screw it on ?

It screws on. It's a semi-permanent installation.

i have 2017 ford escape steering looks like in th epic included does it work on it ?

I think it would. It's adjustable. You can make it as tight as you need it to be. It will probably leave a permanent mark on the steering wheel though. My car is old so I didn't care but yours is almost new...

This does not fit with the hand controls in the car! Any ideas on how to make this work?

Are you sure it won't work with hand-controls? I have a paraplegic friend that has one in his Sprinter handicapped van with hand controls. Seems like it should work. When mounted, the knob is on the inside of the diameter of the steering and out of the way. I have one mounted in my Ram 1500 pickup truck and I love it. I don't see what would interfere. Aren't your hand controls under the steering wheel?
