Does it produce a strong powerful airflow similar to vornado? I need something that really moves the air.

Strong air flow on the high setting without being noisy. Great fan and easy to clean. Highly recommend.

Well, as you probably guessed, it is made in China! However, Lasko is an old American company, and it appears that the fan is made to there stricter standards. As I said in a earlier review, we bought 2 of these and have had them running 24/7 for the past 8 weeks or more, without any problems.

Is it as loud as a box fan? I need it loud as I work nights and sleep during day and have loud neighbors in apartment next to me.

Not really very loud. Fortunately for my purposes. Sounds like you need white noise. This one won’t give you much. There are apps that do white noise.

Can you remove front to clean this fan?

Yes, there is a screw at the bottom of the cage. Unscrew that and the front comes off.
