Works as Expected
I bought two of these cable to use on external drives. As far as I can tell, they work fine. I can't tell if the transfer rate is any faster, which could be possible as these are USB-C cables rather than USB-A (old style).

Perfect. Connects my WD My Passport to my MacBook Pro perfectly without the need for any adapter. Thick cable and strong supports at each end...not too long, not too short.

I've purchased two of these. But both will start transferring, then disconnect/reconnect, ruining the transfer. Try a different brand - these are no good.

Use a standard USB 3.0 device (hard drive, hub, even USB powered screen) with your new MacBook (pro). Well built cable, I've had no problems with hard drives accidentally ejecting.

Mejor imposible
Estuve a dos de comprar un external HDD compatible con USB-C pero luego tuve un momento de inspiración: ¿qué tal si mejor compro un cable micro-B a USB-C y me evito el gasto extra (que era de casi 3 mil pesos)? ¡Correcto! El cable es de alta calidad, resistente, transmite datos a velocidades impresionantes, no hace 'auto-expulsión' en mi MacBook y mucho menos se recalienta. Es la mejor opción para no traer dolores de cabeza de compatibilidad y poder montar cualquier external HDD en los nuevos dispositivos de Apple.
