My regular Samsung remote for my ancient Samsung is pretty rubbish. You need to point it at a very specific part of the tv, on the bottom right, and usually need to press buttons around three times, to make the tv respond.This cheap, generic, no-name remote costing less than £4, worked perfectly straight out of the box. It did not need to be accurately pointed at a specific part of the tv and responses to button presses were instant.My Samsung tv is one of those old 3D models, so the original remote has a dedicated 3D button whereas this generic remote doesn’t. It’s not really a big loss though as I haven’t watched a 3D movie in years and don’t really intend to (if I really wanted to, I’m sure I could find the 3D option in one of the tv’s settings).It’s made of very cheap and flimsy plastic and if you drop it, it will probably break. You won’t care though. At this price, you’ll probably just order another.

Worked out of the box and for a 10yr plus TV. Great stuff; and batteries included too!

Have some spare AAA batteries.I installed the batteries that came with the controller.It worked fine for about 5 minutes, then the select and arrow buttons stopped working. I was about to return it but just beforehand I took the batteries from my working controller and installed them in the new one, it was fine.I cancelled the return.Just 4 stars because the edges and corners are very sharp compared to my Samsung one.

Does nothing - just a piece of plastic. Zero interaction with any Samsung TV in the house. Tried another set of batteries just in case that was an issue, but to no avail.

Works with my Samsung TV. Took a few attempts but it did recognise it after a few clicks and it works perfectly. It's very lightweight and has a bit of a cheap hollow plastic feel to it but for the money it does the job and it's not a problem.
