Trusted easy to use quality product
I had been searching for a 2-wire WiFi compatible smoke detector / carbon monoxide / air quality alarms for ages and ages and was pleased to have finally found this device from a trusted name like KIDDE.Installation was a breeze when replacing an existing older 2-wire model. Twist and remove old device, unplug, remove mount (2 screws), install phone app, scan qr on back of new device, install new mount (2 screws), pull device battery tab, plug-in, twist into place, connect new device to WiFi using the app.I installed a total of 6 of the standard smoke alarms, a couple of the smoke / carbon monoxide, and a couple of the air quality devices and can now worry less. These devices are LOUD. They will wake your entire neighborhood up.They come with a 10 year lithium battery! The app is simple.All-in-all I am very pleased with this purchase and would recommend to other people wanting to continue building their smart home.

Great quality smoke detectors with added bonus of phone app
These smoke detectors are very nice. The air quality monitor is a huge bonus and is very accurate when compared against my air purifiers. I love the remote manage features so no more climibing on a chair to fan the detector while burning dinner in the kitchen. On that point, these detectors don't seem to alarm as much as my old ones did when I am cooking. They seem to know the differenece, not sure how but they do. The 10 year battery is a huge bonus. No more chasing down the darn 'beeep.....beeeep' at 2 in the morning. I am using these are my vacation home so I am able to monitor the status of the house even though I am not there. The peace of mind is priceless. Now I would get an alert to my phone if an fire broke out rather than a call from the neighbors telling me the house is gone. Perfect for remote monitoring situations but you must have wifi internet for them to connect to (keep in mind). Overall I love these. They are not cheap but they are worth every cent IMO.

DO NOT BUY THIS SMOKE DETECTOR
Keep your receipts if you bought this piece of crap since they probably will either recall or there will be a class action. A fan will set off the alarm system. Steam from the shower will set off the alarm system. Sunlight will set off the system. The only thing that probably won't set off the alarm would be a fire. Once the system alarm starts, you can't "Hush" the system. The message on your phone will say, "Must be close to alarm". As you get right up next to the alarm (on the ladder you are standing on), the system will tell you that you have be on the same network as the Kidde alarms (even though you are on the same network). You have to actually disconnect the unit to stop the alarm. 2 out of 6 of these purchased unit go off at random times. Had them 6 months and the frequency of false alarms are increasing. This is a piece of crap that is expensive. DO NOT BUY THIS SMOKE DETECTOR.

Works perfectly to keep me safe!
I ordered this to replace an old Kidde smoke detector that died. I wanted one that also had carbon monoxide detection and I was hoping to either get one where I don’t need to replace batteries, or it would take a 9V battery. I had issues in the past with AA batteries, and they would pop out. This was a breeze to connect, and no need for battery changing. I did have to change out the base to ensure it would fit, but screws went in the same holes and it was easy. I also love the fact that I can get the app on my phone and know what is happening if the detector would start the alarm.

Good device!
This smoke detector is almost perfect for my needs.First of all, it seems too work quite well. It has a photoelectric detector which nmakes miss CE alarms less likely. Secondly, it has a 19 year battery life. Since there seems to be some law of nature that requires the “battery-low” chirp to start at 2:00 am, this feature alone makes it a great choice. Finally, it networks with other Kidde Alarms an and notifies you via cellphone of alarm activations. All great features. So why 4 stars? Well, although it does integrate with Alexia, our home is an Apple Home kit house, so it does not naturally interact with our existing system. It is possible to get an Alexia and interface that, it is extra expense and trouble But yes, IF a competitor had a workable Apple system, I would have purchased that, so listen up, Kidde and add features! Add a detector for attics. Combine CO and smoke or all three as an option. I have 6 more detectors to upgrade.!( and have already added another one of this version)In Short: I recommend this device. If you have Alexia or no home automation yet, it is perfect.

Really cool smoke detector
I'm always a little concerned when yet another device wants to attach itself to my home wifi. So few of these devices offer any real information or value. This smoke detector does in that it always easy to see what the air quality is in your room (in our case, the kitchen) and understand temp and humidity too. I will likely, over time, update all my smoke detectors to this type. I love the feedback and real-time monitoring it provides.

lasted less than a year
save your money and buy elsewhere, this item did not last a year. Two separate units both failed within two weeks of each other. Not worth the cost for a detector that says 10 years, might have been a typo on the packaging more like 10 months. Never again.

Great replacement
20 year old detector stopped working. This was a plug-and-play replacement and love the Wifi option.
