Is this a plug in or does it use batteries?

No it doesn’t need batteries. It is a tiny press and spray air freshener that you fit on side of toilet tank. Refills are a little expensive but a strong squirt of air freshener for quests to use. I always use “relaxing zen” it’s a lovely aroma

Can’t get it to spray

I initially had troubles with it. I took the refill out and refitted and all was okay.
