Wake up to hot water and enjoy instant hot water all day
Great for group settings or for single heavy hot water drinkers like me. I fell in love with large Zojirushi hot water thermoses when I worked in an office in Japan—imagine having piping hot water ready to make tea with, all day long! I hesitated to splurge on a Zojirushi back in the US, because traditional electric kettles are so cheap and ubiquitous. But after several highly-rated electric kettles broke in some way or another within a few months of being used multiple times a day (I like tea and even prefer to drink plain piping hot water over cold), I decided to go for the Zojirushi during a sale event. It was well worth the splurge! On work nights, I can set the time delay function to have the water hot and ready at the perfect temperature for my morning tea when I wake up, with enough water left over to fill both my and my partner’s work thermoses as well. On the weekend, I can leave the keep-warm function on to instantly warm up or brew a new cup of tea throughout the day—with its 3 liter capacity, I rarely need to refill the device or reboil from scratch. The temperature settings may feel limited but are all you need for most varieties of tea or coffee. The wide opening makes for easy filling, emptying, and cleaning, and was also the perfect size for scooping out water with a hishaku for an informal tea ceremony experience. I highly recommend using the suggested cleaning tablets, as mineral scale will gradually build up over use, and the tablets (combined with the device’s self-cleaning function) work really well at eliminating this natural buildup and keeping the device in prime working order. The one thing I think Americans might need to get used to is the need to unplug it to turn it off (and to prevent it from boiling dry when low), but in this case that means easily detaching a magnetic safety plug rather than unplugging it from the wall outlet itself, so there’s little effort needed and minimal, if any, wear and tear to the device or your wall outlet. 6 months into repeated daily use and no issues yet—if this goes on for another year, I will end up saving since I don’t have to keep replacing worn-out kettles!

Keeps water hot and not just for tea
I was stationed in England and Korea where I liked drinking hot tea. Ive had one of these for over 15 years. Not only is it great for tea but he instant hot water is awesome for cooking as well. Dry soups, ramen, mashed potatoes, even filling a pan for making mac and cheese is faster bcause it instantly starts boiling! We live in an all solar home so we watch our watts. This kettle is efficient, holds a gallon of water and as long as you use Reverse Osmosis water cleaning is a breeze. If not every six months soak in vinegar and rinse. The kettle looks nice and not too bulky. We put it on a sliding coaster so we can pull it forward if needed and the cord is plenty long for that. All in all I can't see us without one now. Great price and great quality.

Fantastic kitchen addition
I use this thing daily ever since I got it, and can’t believe how much it’s transformed the way I do things. I find myself always using this for everything from tea to ramen cups and everything in between. It’s quick, convenient and has plenty of space for enough water to last a good few days. Definitely recommend

Works well. Use it almost everyday.
Stick with Zojirushi water boilers. This model works well, but it does not have the best insulation. Since I leave it ON so long, I wish I purchased one of the high end vacuum models. I just didn't think I would use the boiler so much. Next time I'll splurge on the top of the line unit. I think the boiler will last a long time.

Hot Water dispenser
I got tired of my electric kettles which break every 1-2 years for whatever reason. so decided to purchase this hot water dispenser. it's slightly expensive, but this brand is a very well-known brand and quite durable (other family members have them and I've owned a couple in the past). if you're going to plunk down $ for another electronic product, buy the best you can with your budget! you do need to de-scale it periodically which is easy to do (just purchase these descalers which are also available on amazon and run it through) - I enjoy tea and pour over coffee and so nice to have hot water on demand! not sure about the music that plays after the water has been heated up to the desired temperature but we're not too bothered by it. The last one we had lasted for years (much longer than our electric kettles which we've gone through 3 in the past 5 years)!

I was skeptical but its been a great investment.
Electric kettleFor coffee every morn.Does not pour smoothly.~a haikuIt removes the dependency on the action of boiling water as a requirement for hot beveraging. That high cost of action is negated by the instant access to water at post boiling temperature on demand. When removing this obstacle, there is a higher tendency to readily take full advantage of hot beverage enjoyment.AS A daily coffee drinkerI WANT to have hot water at the readySO THAT I can quickly and easily create coffee as needed. So things to consider...1 - You really do want to use clean, either purified or preferably distilled water. Otherwise you'll end up with gross residue inside the boiler.2 - It sings to you. I'm okay with this since my microwave, rice cooker, washer, and dryer already do.3 - It can be adjusted to be tea hot or coffee hot, but those are often not the same. So it unfortunately requires you to be intentional. I'm a regular coffee drinker more than a regular tea drinker. I have it on coffee hot (208 degs F). When I want tea, I pour it into a separate pourer to rest before I pour to steep the tea.4 - It is very easy to use, especially if you use clean water as in #1 above. Little to no maintenance required.5 - It can speed up cooking when you need to boil water to prep, its already mostly there.6 - Cup noodles whenever you want it. Does not work for lasagna.7 - I did not haiku above because the product is Japanese, I haiku'd because I felt like haiku'ing.
