Is the labeling on the bottom of the 2 quart stainless saucepan painted on or engraved on?

I have several pieces from Made In... all of them including the 2 qt sauce pans are engraved lightly on the bottoms. Not as deep as on many of the handles. Hope this helps and if you do buy from Made In, you enjoy the products...
