Audio-Technica AT2020USB-X Cardioid Condenser USB Microphone, Black

I just got my first couple hours out of this mic, and I gotta say the audio quality is superb for the price point. I haven’t owned a microphone before that’s sounded nearly as good, especially out of the box without any post-processing. Setup is also really simple, just plug it in through USB or through USB-C with the included adapter, and then optionally plug a pair of headphones into the mic to passthrough sound and mic playback. The mic is also RGB lit and reacts to if it’s muted or not, which adds to the aesthetic if that’s important to you, and has a small touch-based button to mute/unmute. It’s a great piece of hardware from the time I spent with it but if anything changes I’ll come back to this review.

Been using this mic for some time now. Good quality, looks sleek, my viewers on stream noticed an instant upgrade in quality and clarity when I switched. Great bang for your buck, would recommend to anyone for podcasting/streaming.

Solid built quality with a heavy feel and a very nice desk top stand This thing is beautifully made. I just plugged it and it works. Nothing else to install. In addition I also plugged in my headphones to listen to the playback. Ok it can pick up some outside sounds like a leaf blower going on outside my house or rustles around you but as long as your recording room is very quiet this microphone works very well without having to spend huge amount of money. I am this using for video voiceovers on with Cyberlink video editing software. . It works with virtually an program. I even used my NCH Voxal Voice changer software with this and it works beautifully. I have to see if it can be made to work with my iPad also, but I am told I would need a powered USB hub for that as this needs power to work and the iPad does not have enough power. I am so happy I am going to go look at what else they have.

As someone just starting out with content creation, this mic has been a solid performer. It’s super easy to set up, sounds crisp, and works great for YouTube clips and casual videos. If you're doing full-scale podcasts or pro audio work, you might want to upgrade—but for small creators like me, it's more than enough. Clean audio without breaking the bank!

I was in the market to upgrade the sound of my USB microphone. I own a Rode NT USB, but it's now a little too flat sounding for my taste and needs - and has no mute button. After some research and watching demos on the inyternty I bought the Audio-Technica AT2020USB-X . It delivers amazing clarity, boost and has a touch sensitive mute button. The headphone volume is great and it comes with a mounting nut so you can put it on a boom arm. Please note that if you are thinking of buying this microphone you should also buy a pop filter. it's very sensitive as are most high quality microphones... the rest is about your technique. Gorgeous clear sound 10+.

The AT2020 is a real upgrade for my voice acting from the Sure mic I’d previously been using. Love the Susan option as I’m plugging into my MacBook Pro. It’s really plug and play. Please do check the sample and bit setting in System Preferences but after that - so easy to connect 1/8th” headphones to the mic to feed music from the laptop in and mix with voice playback. I’m delighted to get recording so swiftly after unboxing and the sound so far is miles beyond what I’d previously been using. Great value for the price. Worth it!
