Love her style. Her use of ingredients and the wonderful taste of all her recipes.

I have many of Claire MacDonald's individual cook books and her recipes are very good and very reliable and interesting without being too complicated but always produce a very tasty result, Its good to get the " Big Book" because it compiles many of the favourite recipes in a more logical way with an index which helps to you to find a certain recipe that you want. You can never go wrong with these recipes.

Clear, thoroughly usable recipes which are easy to cook and have the advantage of using good, seasonal, and therefore not expensive, ingredients. The delight of this book is the discovery of fascinating new twists on classic, homely dishes which has meant that, after only a month, there are a dozen new dishes in my day to day cooking.

This is a very good book but if you buy this expecting it to be a proper revision of the original 1997 edition, with additions, corrections and other improvements you will be disappointed as any changes are absolutely minimal. To be fair, it's not published as a 'revised' edition but for the same cookery book to be re-published 18 years later with no revision or additions is poor, to say the least. If you want the book, go for the 1997 original which is printed on whiter, brighter paper. We love many of Claire Macdonald's recipes and were very pleased to find this 'new' book, only to be hugely disappointed when it arrived.

Loved her books in the past - this one i find a bit uninspiring , with poor colour illustrations . A bit disappointing . Still enjoy her little anacdotes !

Fantastic book with great recipes - have only just opened it and have already highlighted a fistful of recipes to try out.

Not for a novice, but excellent.
