What is the difference between this wheel and the DW4906?

The DW4907 has a 1" width and the DW4906 has a 3/4" width.

Is this considered a coarse or fine wire wheel?

The DW4907 is for heavy material removal. We do not categorize it as coarse or fine.

I've heard this wheel is remarkably wide - will it fit the DW758 without removing the shroud?

I have an 8-inch dewalt bench grinder (I think it's a 758 but i"m not 100% sure). The wheel fits inside the shroud, but some stray wires do rub on the inside of the side panels. It doesn't bother me, but I suppose you could take nippers to the problem if it bothered you.

Some wire wheels are too thin in the center, where the arbor is, in order for the flange discs to tighten against it tightly. About how thick is it?

Not sure how thick the center of the wire wheel is, but what I did do is get 2 large washers(sp) to thicken the center. It has been a very long time when this was done so. I do not remember if the center thickness was an issue or not ?

Quality Branded Machine Wire Bush.

This is a good quality branded machine wire brush with a high speed rating (in excess of 4000 rpm). This makes it suitable for use on most buffing machines with a two pole 50Hz induction motor running at a nominal 2880 rpm.There are similar brushes available on Amazon at a much lower price, but the delivery is horrendously long ( six months in one case) and their quality is unknown. I ordered it to replace an identical brush which has given around 8 years service. RHE.
