But we got the 4.5 quart model, because it's the perfect size to bake amazing artisan bread as described in books like Flour, Water, Salt, Yeast by Ken Forkish. If you want to impress somebody (anybody, not just a date - even yourself), try baking one of the breads in that book in this pot.

It really depends on how many people you are cooking for. The 4 qt works for me because I don't have a large family to feed and it is lighter than the 6 quart. I don't have very much strength in my arms, so it works for me.
