Specific Application
I used the Rockford Fosgate R14X2 (4” speakers) in a set of antique drive-in speakers due to needing a specific size and I wanted a semi quality speaker. (Yes they’re already considered antique at 45-65 years old to you folks that grew up with them)I am by no means a speaker expert, but overall, these sound relatively no different to the 4” speakers originally installed in my drive-in speakers, but with the added upgrade of no paper and updated speaker technology. They don’t really seem to have any bass, and they are a little tinny sounding alone, but when they are paired with larger or base speakers, they seem to work well as tweeters.Keep in mind, other reviews describe them as not very durable and not lasting long, but I have not used them very long yet, nor do I plan to blast these speakers on full volume constantly, so I can’t vouch on that matter yet. They were packaged very well in the original box, and very straightforward to use and set up. I was testing them after installing them into my drive-in speakers within 5-10 minutes of opening the box. Although, if you were expecting the speakers to come with the wires shown in the pictures, it does not come with any wires, only the speakers, grills, screws, and clips nuts.Overall, they seem to be great speakers if you’re limited on size, as am I, and alright with them being a little tinny or having no bass.

Fast Shipping!!! Great Quality Sound for a 4”
I was totally surprised how fast the speakers arrived (in the midst of the Christmas rush) all the way from the west coast to the east coast in 2 days. Also the speakers are fantastic for the size that they are. I’ve had kicker, dual, pioneer, etc and these are some of the best.

*DIY AUDIO PLEASE READ* Highest Build Quality, NOT GOOD FOR BOOMBOX
Really good speakers for the price and size. You wouldn't expect such a heavy weight or large magnet for a driver of this size.NOTE FOR BOOMBOX OR SPEAKER PROJECT PEOPLE:The frequency response of this speaker goes to as low as 100hz, it's problematic because all the good bass ranges are between 11hz and ~90hz.The resonant frequency of this speaker is also 133.5hz, meaning that you will only get the higher, punchy, thumps of the bass but no real bass. This is good for Car Doors because the whole inside of the car is used as the "instrument" to deliver the bass throughout the vehicle. The treble is much harsher than the bass so you really need to use a tone control or some equalizer. ( Either in your phones like Viper4Android or PC Equalizer Software)These are speakers designed for something different than boombox or bookshelf style. If you want to use these speakers for car doors, etc.... GO AHEAD AND USE EM! THEY ARE REALLY GOOD!tl;dr they are good speakers that work reliably and have great frequency response, but if you want to use them as a stereo home entertainment speaker, it will be significantly more difficult to do so compared to their intended automotive design. Overall, you would have to design a box that doesn't work well for this style speaker, and certain ranges will sound really harsh without extensive modification and research.Theile/Small Properties of these speakers---------------------------------------------------------------Response Via Email(Brian Pasecky) - 11/15/2016 02:05 PMQES: 1.59QMS: 5.14Mms (g): 6.0BL(T*M): 3.07Rms(kg/s): 1.0Cms(mm/N): .24

GREAT SOUND
85 Mercedes 380SL only has two small 4 inch speakers in dash and these fit perfectly with no modifications and they sound amazing. Hard to beat the price and the sound of these.

4 Inch Fits 2019 Suabru BRZ dash speaker location with a bit of DIY
This 4 inch speaker does fit in my 2019 BRZ's dash. The dash has a stock 4 inch and a stock tweeter. I took out the stock 4 inch speaker and added this Rockford Fosgate 4 inch speaker. It takes a bit of DIY but you can get it to work. I tapped into the factory speaker wires and connected that to the speaker terminals with the cables provided by Rockford Fosgate. Putting the speaker in place, there is enough clearance for these to fit, you just have to use a razer blade or something sharp to cut away a little bit of the plastic inside where the speaker sits on the dash, you can see where the rockford fosgate speaker hits the plastic, so just cut that little bit away and then it rests in there easily. I didn't bolt mine back in since the stock bolts are a bit too big for these holes but its in there solid enough, you could zip tie it in there too but its just fine sitting there with the cover over it.
