I gave this helmet to my 18 y.o. son to replace his old one, dinged up in a crash. The new version is lighter and better ventilated, but still quite inexpensive. It's easy to snap on and easy enough to remove, too. Fortunately, Schwinn helmets seem to perform quite well in a crash, too. My son's old helmet had an ugly scrape on one side (better the helmet than his head) -- we were advised to replace helmets after any significant impact, so this one is the replacement. The sizing is very accurate - if you measure; it should fit fine.The best part about lighter and better ventilated? This helmet gets WORN... all the time, now, too, since the last one got scraped up. Funny how the ruination of just one helmet can make even the young see the rationale for using a skid lid ALL the time?! Obviously you can spend a lot more money on a helmet, but you really don't need to. The Schwinn is tested/certified/etc. and works. I'm protecting a big investment in college tuition now, so I make sure that brain of his is safeguarded.

I bought this in 2015 and leaving this review in 2019: Saved my life. The last mile of a 20 mile ride, 1 mile from home, I crashed on the last turn on a bike path when my front tire got stuck in some soft sand and the rear flew around and threw me off. The rest of my body was really messed up and I was bedridden for weeks but my head was perfectly fine… not even a concussion and I was thrown head first! I was told by the paramedics that if I survived without my helmet, I surely would’ve had a traumatic brain injury. I feel like this helmet saved my life. I have to say that I am upgrading and buying a much more expensive helmet for my new one. An extra few bucks is well worth the safety. Thank you Schwinn for producing an affordable, comfortable helmet that protects the noggin! So grateful and thankful to be alive. By the way, I always found the helmet very comfortable and my head never got too hot. Great all-around basic helmet.

The clever fitting system with adjustable straps and the telescoping headband with the click-turn dial on the back mean you get an ideal fit, no settling. The venting keeps you cool and the removable visor effectively protects your face from excessive sun exposure. Great product, excellent safety rating and probably the best value in the class. The styling's just a bonus, I wanted features and safety.

Fits good but the chin strap causes my neck to be irritated. The colors are perfect

This helmet looks nice and looks pretty good. It has holes for ventilation and does not feel hot. The visor doesn't do much against the sun, but it helps the looks. Most importantly, it is lightweight, so it will not tire your neck on long rides. I haven't crashed, so I can't testify to how well it protects. Overall, I would recommend this helmet.

Love the easy adjustment wheel in the back. Was able to make helmet fit over my windbreaker hood with just a twist of the wheel, and got a ride in on a crisp autumn morning. Very sturdy helmet for such a light weight.

Nice. Looks good. Price is excellent. Adjustable headband is very easy to use: just turn a knob at the back of the helmet while wearing for nice snug fit. Excellent quality. Will last a long time. Very pleased.
