Smells very strong even after rain and beware if you have cedar allergies
Very strong smelling! Dont be silly like me and if you have tree allergies, and know specially cedar is a trigger for you- dont use this bare handed, touch your nose, face and body becauseeeeeeee you’re not gonna be happy. You may have a strong allergic reaction like I did! So yeah, works well but note if cedar is an allergen for you maybe see if someone else can do it for you or wear a mask and clothes and shower right away. Also- as I was laying it along my fence line so many daddy long legs started coming up from the literal and metaphorically wood work so they defiantly didn’t like the smell so I can imagine other bugs like ticks and fleas not being happy too.

Poof! No Mosquitos!
2 days after sprinkling it in the Ivy,mosquitos disappeared. No more bites! After I had ordered, I was told it wouldnot work once mosquitos were established, that you had to also use it with a spray -which I didn't want to do, so planned to returnit.Fortunately, I went on and tried it without the spray.(Maybe the mosquitos had not established yet)We are happy it works, and will apply it everyfew weeks through the height of mosquito season.

Smells great & effective!
We've been having a major black fly infestation and your typical ticks at our house. This along with a lawn spray were the only products that seemed to decrease the numbers of flies and we haven't seen a single tick in weeks since spreading this around the yard. Not to mention the smell of the cedar chips is quite nice! Worth the money in my opinion.

Huge waste of money
So I found this on the green genie and I started purchasing this and putting around my yard every 3 weeks. I started putting it around the house and yard out to the fence starting in December in South GA North Florida area. I was thinking it was working, there were only a few mosquitoes hanging out int heir normal areas and they seemed to leave when spreading the mulch. Now that we are officially in Spring the mosquitoes are back and are unaffected by this mulch. So I've spent $45-$50 four times for four applications and this stuff is not working. You can see in these pictures, the cedar mulch I applied a week ago is apparent in the picture on the brick and yet there are several mosquitoes just chilling above the mulch. I was hoping since a Florida nursery was praising this product it was the real thing, but they must be getting paid for advertising. Shame. $200 loss. Maybe it works up north but apparently not in south GA/North FL.

I think it works
I think this stuff worked but I guess I don’t know for sure. I just know that my dog was bite free for a month but I didn’t know that you need to reapply every 4-6 weeks, I thought every 3 months is what the bag said until I just came here to order more after I found a dead tick on my dog and I see it says 4-6 weeks on here, could explain why she got bit since it’s been 6 weeks since 1st application. I also use the cedarcide spray on my dog before she goes out and I’m wondering if that’s why the tick was dead?…But only after it already bit her because she has a big bite bump that I had to put thyme oil on to kill any possible Lyme at the entry site. I’m wondering why it wasn’t repelled altogether with the spray? We’ve been thru Lyme before so I try to cover all bases. And I didn’t realize that this is supposed to repel ants too cause my yard is still filled with ant mounds. Having to put 2 bags every 4-6 weeks is expensive and annoying but I have no other options at the moment.

Helped with gnats!
I was looking for something natural to use to help control the gnats in my backyard. This stuff smells great and I noticed a difference immediately. It is so easy to apply to lawn using a spreader. I will be purchasing again to use in a few weeks.

Not sure
Not sure about effectiveness for mosquitoes and ticks. Still have a lot of mosquitoes. But may be working for spiders. A bit pricey. I’m not sure if I’d buy again.
