a very funny read
william buckley lives on with this compilation of his notes and asides column from the national review. a light, fast read when you are looking for something to be entertaining. it fit perfectly over the christmas and new year's holidays.to eliminate the possiblity of upset to visitors, i used white-out to cover over the offensive title word on the front cover and spine.my favorite entry by far is borrowed from another magazine or journal and is from a young college gentleman who is debating the various and relative merits of thermodynamics and theology.very worthwhile!

Engaging Book
This is a great compendium of letters and responses over the years at National Review. Mr. Buckley, Jr. was an incredibly intelligent man with an impressive grip on language and how best to employ it in speech and writing. Highly recommended to anyone who enjoys conservative opinion and/or talented writing.

Now this is English!
You don't have to agree with his political positions to enjoy and appreciate use of the English language. Glad i read it on a kindle as i needed to use the dictionary feature frequently. For those who like good debate and thoughtful essay, liberally (liberal?) salted with tongue-in-cheek humor, this collection will not disappoint.

Fantastic book - Buckley's wit in full force
Buy it ASAP. Buckley had amazing charm and wit, and he uses it in spades here, talking to dignitaries, Presidents, and the common men.

Wonderful Bill Buckley!!!
When you are missing the Wit and Wisdom of Bill Buckley..........this is the book to pick up again and again. This guy is irreplaceable! Years of National Review letters to the Editor are answered by "himself".This is a great insight to the real-life guy he was. I won't even lend out my copy!

Wonderful Read
This was a great read. In these times of nasty political bickering the book chronicles letters from a time when those with very stronly held and oppossing viewpoints did not abuse one another, but treated each other with respect, even affection. Those with a Conservative bent will not find a better appologist than Buckley.
