The Insert-Ready Aperture itself is the Star of This Show!
I like using the Insert-Ready Aperture sight by itself (without using the inserts). I have Tech Sights on 2 of my SKS's and found the stock "peep" hole was too small (at least for my eyes). I thought of drilling out the stock peep, but figured to take the simplest path, so purchased this kit. My recommendation to Tech Sight management is to offer this larger aperture as an option when buying the sight system. None-the-less, the Tech Sight system really increases the accuracy of your SKS....well worth the money.

Nice But
Nice but swapping out the aperture for the stock one was not as simple as it looked.Took some cussing and strong-arming but I finally got it swapped.I couldn't rotate the elevation dial, which you need to do to remove the old aperture . I finally had to use a small medical hemostat to grab it like a wrench and rotate it. I would strongly recommend getting the sight tool. Would have made the swap 100% easier. But, now that it's done, it was worth it.

but in the worst case, I can pull out the insert and ...
There's not QUITE as robust as I had wanted -- I'd hoped that the inserts would snap all the way into the aperture holder, but they don't. That worries me that they aren't likely to stand up to hard field use, but in the worst case, I can pull out the insert and still have a usable (if a tad large) rear sight aperture using just the empty holder.

East to Switch Between Apertures
Pretty nifty. Though the replaceable apertures look easy to lose, they are secure once installed. The biggest hassle was installation of the new sight post. If your vision is less than perfect, use a magnifier to understand how the parts are configured. It is a straight-forward job once you realize how the parts are designed. You must have the flat sight adjustment tool for the installation.

rendering it useless. You must straighten it with brass tubing and ...
If you fold the Kel Tek SU-16 rifle and place it into a bag, sight-end down, the rubber insert will be bent by the contact with the bag ... and will take on a permanent bend, rendering it useless. You must straighten it with brass tubing and put it into boiling water to take the bend out of it. You should be able to purchase these inserts by themselves as spares, as flimsy as they are.

Needs a spare ball bearing included
Needs to come with a ball bearing if yours goes flying. Like mine did.
