The best I’ve owned!
This hands-down one of the best kitchen investments I’ve ever made. The power, consistency, and durability are unmatched, it blends everything into an ultra-smooth texture with ease, whether I’m making smoothies, soups, sauces, nut butters, or frozen drinks! What really stands out is the control and precision. The variable speed dial allows you to fine-tune texture exactly how you want it, and the motor is strong enough to handle tough ingredients without overheating or stalling. Everything comes out incredibly smooth, no grit, no chunks!. Also- it is QUIET! this is such a huge bonus. I’ve never seen a blender so quiet before. If you’re serious about blending and want restaurant-quality results at home, this blender delivers in every way. I would absolutely buy it again and highly recommend it.

Worth the investment!
The Vitamix 5200 is hands-down the best blender I’ve ever owned. It’s super powerful — it blends everything to the perfect smooth consistency, whether it’s smoothies, soups, or frozen shakes. I’ve even made hot soup right in the blender, and it comes out creamy and steaming in minutes! It’s really easy to use with just a few simple controls, and cleanup is a breeze — just a little soap and warm water, and it cleans itself. It’s a bit of an investment, but the quality is outstanding and you can tell it’s built to last. I have been using mine since 2021 without any issues. If you’re serious about cooking or just want perfect smoothies every time, this is 100% worth it. Total game changer!

Vitamix has an excellent reputation for a reason
Owning a Vitamix blender was a goal for ages, and I finally got this one almost 3 years ago. This awesome blender still works like it did when it was new. I’m a vegan and the value of an excellent blender really comes into play every day. This blender is so fast and powerful that it has no trouble making things like silky hummus and cashew cream. Smoothies blend thoroughly in just a few seconds. This Vitamix lets me make my own nut milks and turn pumpkin seeds or lentils into tofu. It’s opened a whole new world of cooking. This blender is so top notch that if you don’t want something blended into the consistency of a shake, like pesto for example, then you need to set it to low speed and don’t walk away to load the dishwasher or something. Just wait a moment and you’re done. Clean up is no problem with this Vitamix. They’re built with a smooth general surface and don’t have annoying gaps that fill with liquids. Just a heads up on use - I start mine on the lowest speed then turn up the power to blend. It only takes a second and avoids the jolt of 0-100 instantly. In any case, I haven’t experienced any sort of leakage with this awesome Vitamix and everything fits perfectly. Three years in and I’m still so happy with my Vitamix blender. Never had any problems with it. There is a reason that Vitamix has a loyal fan base. Yes, they’re more expensive upfront but it’s saved me a small fortune too. I haven’t needed to replace or repair anything. Prior to getting the Vitamix, my blenders were not the inexpensive type and they still only lasted a year at most. Vitamix is the best blender you can buy.

You Can't Get Much Better
It's the best blender without any bells and whistles. Pricey but again it is the BEST. It is THE restaurants' standard peace of equipment that last decades under heavy use, and restaurants will use this machine more in a week than you will in a lifetime. You most-likely will never need another blender (at least not for 15-20+ years) The design coupled with its power gives you smoothe and most consistent results. If you get into making, smoothies, purees, nuttbutters, or any blending (like soups, refried beans, and even hummus) you can't get much better outside of some fancy setting/buttons (which I find unnecessary) and maybe some safety features/failsafes (which again, I also don't find necessary, because a good rule of thumb too not stick your hand in it while on the motor...) The only con I have is it is tall and usually doesn't fit in spaces between the counter and cupboard when you put the blender on the motor. Easy solution just pull the motor out so it isn't under the cupboard. I do wish my cupboard are hight so i can have the whole blend just chilling on the counter like my Toaster. But I just do that with the bottom motor and store rest of the blender away. I would have gone for a shorter blender, but this size gives me opinions making it less of a hassle when I do need to blend more or if i need to make more than 1 or 2 smoothies. Plus I find the narrowing design towards the bottom of the blender helps with the product. Personally this size is just right for all my bending projects and it fits in most standard dishwashers, if blitzing some soapy water doesn't already do the trick. So IF you are finding yourself needing a bender, wish your smoothies felt more like SMOOTHies rather and Slushie from a certain drive-in, or want a better consistency for purees and have a easier time makingemulsions . Your journey ends here. Disclaimers: -Obviously this an investment, but if you want a great appliance this is a "buy once cry one" kind of purchase. If you DO NOT have a blender, think of how (or if) a blender be helpful to you. If your not satisfied with your cheaper bender, it's probably because it isn't a vitamix or at least not the 5200 -With the Vitmix 5200 blender MAKE A HABIT of always turning the dial to 1 and flip the switch to "Variable" before and after turning it on. The power of this bad boy need a little bit of responsibility. Flipping it on while it is switched on "High" or dialed to a "10" (especially without a lid) can splatter all over the place. -This blender is also loud, you won't suffer earing damage but you'll get an earful if a baby is sleeping in the next room. Also, Late night smoothies can also run the risk of head trauma if you have a wife... blend responsibly.

Doesn't have a Reset Button- buy one with one if you blend large quantities of thick recipes.
Just got it, so far so good. The item came well plackage, and looks new. I thought that I was going to get a recipe book with it but didn't happen. I am hoping for the best since there are so many bad and good reviews. I will update this review after I use the item. Jun 23,2025 I made a single serving smoothie bowl and it was quick. But it's odd to me how I can't use the high speed so far. Jun 24,2025 I was also trying to make my monthly batch of peanut butter with olive oil, and the blender has stopped working twice. I'm using the whisk that comes with it, and it keeps stopping. I also haven't been able to use the high setting because it overheats. So far, I'm a little annoyed, since my Ninja can do it just fine for less money. July 4, 2025 The blender works like a charm. I found a recipe on the website that said to always try switching to high power after the first 5 seconds to prevent overheating, and that completely changed the situation. So I'll be looking for more tips on the Vitamix website. I wish they had included a recipe book in the package; it probably would have saved me all this trouble. I have yet to try making peanut butter again, but I'm sure it will be a better experience. **** 11/22/2025 Overall, I don't like this product; it's frustrating to use because I bought it specifically to make a lot of homemade peanut butter, hummus, smoothie bowls, and açai bowls for my family. It's supposed to be good for restaurant use, so why does it get saturated with a large quantity? It only works well for smoothies and a single serving of thick recipes like the ones mentioned above. I really wanted to love this product for the money I spent. I've never had to deal with my Ninja blender stopping for any reason. But the biggest problem of all is that you have to wait 45 minutes to turn it back on. 45 MINUTES! 🫨

Better than cheaper blenders
TLDR; Significantly better product than competition in the sub $250 range. Every day I make a protein shake with milk, ice, peanut butter, protein powder, etc. I've done this for 5+ years. In that time, we've gone through 4 blenders in the $100-$200 price range. You can immediately tell that the Vitamix is much higher quality than products in that lower price range. I like that the variable control has a really wide range -- both much slower and the low end, and much higher power at the high end than other blenders. It does not magically overcome the basic problems of physics. If you do not put the ingredients in the right way and manage the variable speed, you will get air bubbles and other common issues. If the blades don't touch anything, they will not blend anything. If this disappoints you, then much much disappointment awaits you. However, I find these issues to be much easier to deal with in the Vitamix than in other blenders. I have yet to encounter the "overheat" problem that others have mentioned. Though, my previous Hamilton Beach blender would shutoff 2-3 times while making my smoothie. The Vitamix has yet to do this. So, I suspect it suffers from this issue less than competitors. It is tall. Arguably too tall. Get a different Vitamix if that is a problem for you.

Basic Version With Tall, Narrow Container
Sometimes it's best to get the basic version of a kitchen appliance because all the bells and whistles can lead to a breakdown in function. I chose this Vitamix blender because 1. I always wanted one and 2. I grabbed it when it was on sale for Prime Day. I researched the different models and found that this "basic" one had all the power that Vitamix is famous for without the complaints that some people have for the more elaborate models. I wanted a container that could self-clean -- more on that later -- and could power through ice cubes and frozen fruit without leaving chunks behind. I wanted to be able to prepare hot soups as easily as hummus and milkshakes. I got everything I wanted; however, this Vitamix is not perfect. First, I had to return my first blender because it leaked through the bottom. My second one worked as it should, but it bothers me that Vitamix lacked the quality control to catch the first defect. I had to wonder if I received a returned blender. For this model of Vitamix, the blade is supposed to be sealed to the bottom of the container; it cannot be removed. This design is critical for not only leak-free blending but also for cleaning. My second complaint has to do with how narrow the bottom of the container is. Vitamix does sell a wide-bottom container, but it is pricey since that, too, has the blade permanently installed. I have to use the included plunger at times to make sure everything in a full container gets processed. Last, because this is a basic model, it does not have pre-programmed settings for smoothies, soups, frozen drinks, etc., and you must control how long and how fast the blades move to reach your desired result. But, oh, the power! My strawberry daiquiris get made in almost no time, and, with a push or two through the lid, get completely and smoothly processed. I have an Oster Versa, and while in many ways it operates the same as the Vitamix, it is slower to get the same results. The friction created by the blades on high eventually heat up the contents for steaming pureed soups, but they won't be on long enough to, say, warm your milkshake. It has a swtich for two blade speed settings: high and variable. When variable speed is switched on, you have ten speeds to select within it. You will have to learn which speeds are best for which applications, but it all works flawlessly. Because the blade is permanently attached, cleaning is a breeze. You never risk cutting your fingers because all you have to do is fill the container halfway with hot water, add a little dish soap, blend on high, and then rinse. Cleaning accomplished. I applaud Vitamix for including both a printed owner's manual and a recipe book. When I'm in the kitchen learning to use a new appliance, I don't want to have to run back and forth to my computer or squint at my phone's small screen. Because Vitamix has included this "Introduction to High-Speed Blending," my understanding of all this blender can do has been expanded, thanks to the select recipes. I never would have dreamed of trying some of the techniques without it. I've discovered that there's a reason so many Vitamix owners swear by it. Although I cannot compare to Blendtec, its main competitor, I know that it is superior to other friction blenders I've owned. While the Oster Versa is great for the price, Vitamix remains king in my book. -- Debbie Lee Wesselmann

A Professional Kitchen Tool
Yes, it's expensive, but it's a terrific kitchen tool and you'll be using for many, many years to come. If you blend anything, this is the tool to use. Sure, you can buy the cheap commodity blender, but you'll be unhappily replacing it in a year or two. A super-strong motor and commonsense controls make this an easy-to-use tool for blending foodstuffs. Highly recommended!
