Light does not sink, it floats on top of the water

Out of the package, the light was very bright and light weight. Upon my first time using the light to go night fishing, it was evident that the light had no way of being submerged and only would float on top of the water. The air inside the light housing prohibits it from going under the water and performing its primary function. Also, shortly after letting the light float on top of the water, water must have leaked inside as the light stopped working completely.
