Oxford Black n' Red A5 Notebook, Hardback Casebound, Lined, 192 pages (Pack of 3)

In the age of tablets and laptops it is great to return to a solid note book and fountain pen to formulate your ideas and thoughts - always easier in your own handwriting.

I've used Black n' Red brand before and have been happy with the quality. These are just normal Black n' Red, so all good. Price was better than the normal stationary shop, particularly if you buy 3.

These are very good quality and survived a year in and out of my bag!

The covers are sturdy and the paper is thick enough to be used on both sides without bleed-through from a normal ballpoint pen. However, two things prevent me from giving this pack of three A4 notebooks the full five stars. Firstly, they come with an entirely unnecessary plastic wrap around them - a cardboard strip would have held them together just as effectively and been less world-destroying. Secondly, the first one I've used doesn't open completely flat - the front sheet is attached to a good few millimetres width to the second sheet, meaning you either have to pull them apart and risk ripping them, or simply fold the sheet and all later ones at that point. Annoying, and at this price I wouldn't have expected this kind of flaw. It doesn't make the notebook in any respect unusable, but it's disappointing.

Good quality paper, well bound.
