Terrible GPS mount that doesn't work.
I used this GPS mount on my previous car to attach my Garmin Nuvi to the windshield. First of all, the suction is not good, it used to fall off at random times while I was driving. So when the Garmin GPS was attached, the whole thing would become detached from the windshield and come flying at me. It is not safe for that to happen when you're driving because you can be startled very quickly and this could divert your attention away from driving and maybe cause you to be in an accident if you're not careful. Secondly, the suction makes a big mark on the windshield that never comes off and despite trying to clean the windshield numerous times, the mark stayed. I received this item twice - the first time, the item came with the Garmin back in the day when Garmin was being more generous. The second time, I bought a new Garmin and another came with the second one. I hated the first one so much that finally I invested in the Garmin Portable Friction mount - and it works like a charm! Been using it every since, never fails, stays in place. Don't waste your money buying this item. Get the Garmin Portable Friction mount.

Maybe OK in very limited circumstances
My initial reaction to this product was that it was OK but not great. I had some initial trouble getting it set up because it wasn't clear in the instructions to remove a plastic cover over the adhesive bottom. But then it seemed initially to work OK. Unfortunately, after just a week or two the weight of the GPS would cause the back edge of the adhesive to start peeling away from the dashboard, and it would sag down until the GPS rested on the dashboard. Even after recleaning the dashboard carefully it this happened again, and by a third attempt the adhesive was almost non-existent and useless. I threw it out. Not, a small caveat. Perhaps if you have a nice smooth surface on your dashboard, and it's flat, it might be OK. Perhaps. But on my nubby dashboard surface - forget it. So, only under very optimal circumstances would it work.Note that the original GPS mount that came with my Garmin unit did work fine, but unfortunately was lost. This replacement just won't do it.

GPS Window Mount
This product is okay, not super by any rate. Suction cup tends to wear out after about eight months. One thing I don't like about it is that when you stick it to a cold window, sunshine or defrost warms the window and it pops off the window due to thermal expansion of the air caught underneath the suction cup. If the suction cup were a little deeper or wider, I think this problem would resolve itself. Once reapplied at the "new temperature" it functions fine again unless the window continues to heat up which may require you to put it in place one more time. This is not a typical day to day problem, but it has happened on occassion. It is more of a seasonal nuisance than a consistent problem. Given the low price of this item, I would say it performs well for price. It's small and non intrusive too, unlike some of the other "contraptions" used to connect GPS systems to windshields. That is a big plus. It hides completely behind the GPS and doesn't further interfere with visibility. If your looking for a cheap mount that performs well for price, this will work.

Patience paid off....
The first Garmin suction mount Semson shipped to me was terrible. It could not even hold up its own weight, and would fall off my windshield immediately after placing it there-not something you want to attempt to hold your $200+ gps. I immediately emailed the company (Saturday) and asked for the RMA# required to return the faulty product. Apparently they are closed over the weekends, but first thing Monday morning a reply email was awaiting me stating that they've already shipped me another suction mount and requesting my patience in waiting to try out this one before returning the first. They covered the shipping and handling for the replacement. About two weeks later I received the mount, and now after about one month it's still holding strong against the windshield and the weight of my Garmin. Although their first attempt sucked, they sent me a working replacement, at their expense, and were very prompt in answering my emails and did care about correcting the problem. I would shop from them again.

Not well made
I attached it to the windshield in the morning and by afternoon, the whole assembly had fallen apart. The suction pad is connected to the rest of the assembly very poorly. I had to re-glue the pad to the spring holder, and so far it has held.Update: The seller WCS store contacted me as soon as I wrote this review and they offered to replace it. Though I now know that this product is not very sturdy and cannot stand the heat in a parked car, I am very happy with the courtesy they showed in replacing it. I know they are only retailers, and perhaps they cannot control the quality, but they are doing everything they can to earn our trust. Thanks.

This original Garmin mount holds tight
This is the same as the original mount that came with a Garmin I bought in 2009. I lost the original mount, so I tried a couple of aftermarket options. I tried a dash-mounted version, as well as a vent-clip style mount. Neither of these other types worked as well as this one.I've been the passenger in cars where OTHER gps mounts lost their suction while the driver was using them. It's very frustrating and distracting. This particular mount has never lost suction from my windshield, like the others I've witnessed.

not as good a fit as the one shipped with the GPS unit.
In my dotage, I neglected to pack the original mount before departing on a journey that would keep me away from home for several months. Purchased this to fill the void, but it was extremely difficult to get the GPS unit to snap into the mount. I nearly cracked the case, but finally was able to put it together. Getting it back apart was even more difficult. I suspect that these mounts may be test fitted prior to packaging and any that are too tight or too loose are rejected for each specific unit. Finally, I simply do not disconnect the GPS from the mount and just take the entire assembly into the house at night gor security.

Not as advertised
WARNING!!! THIS PRODUCT IS NOT AS ADVERTISED!!!The pictures supplied make you think that the back plate attachment comes with this item. It does not. The description says "Garmin Nuvi Suction Cup Mount For 2X0 Series" even though the pictures show it with the back plate, which is very misleading.I needed this product with the back plate and was fooled by the picture. I can't be bothered to return it as it's simply not worth it, however I'll play it safe and buy it from Halfords or something where I can actually see what I'm getting.I wonder how much money is made from people ordering low value items that are incorrect, but can't be bothered to return them.Word of advice - if the description doesn't match the picture then stay away from it - no matter how good a deal it may seem.

Garmin suction cup
It's a little clumsy and awkward to secure on my dashboard so I leave it propped up on the passenger side which isn't ideal.
