Review: Best way to make French coffee! - This is the best way to make French coffee. The traditional way is to put coffee ground into a special filter, then pour in hot water and let coffee drip down to a cup below. Well, I did that for most of my life. Then I switched to a coffee press. It is better, but not quite the taste I was looking for. So I looked for this on desertcart and found this amazing espresso maker! I used to have this same thing to use when I went camping and still remember how the coffee tasted. Believe me, try it and you never go back to anything you used before. This espresso maker is simple to operate. Put coffee ground in the filter, fill the botton reservoir with water, screw the top part on and put on the stove. After 3, 4 minutes, water start boiling and thick, dark coffee start flowing to the top cup. Wait a few seconds, then you have a hot, rich and thick cup of out of this world coffee. Review: Love it! - This is a nice poor man's espresso maker. As most have noted you aren't going to get that nice creamy/oily layer you get with a real steam espresso maker but you also won't be dropping a thousand bucks on this either - so there's that. I use this to make cappuccinos, macchiato, and cafe mochas on the weekends and it makes for a nice little treat. The 6 cup size makes enough for two cappuccinos or 3-4 espresso shots. I bought two of these, one I use on my electric stove and the other I take camping with me. The stovetop one is in perfect condition after numerous uses, the campfire one has some warping on the handle but it is functionally intact. Bottom line, this is a great investment for coffee lovers at a very reasonable cost.

weird smell after using (Normal for this type of Coffee Pot regardless of metal!!)
This coffee maker is not quite an espresso maker, but it does make a very good coffee if you want to make a strong late or cafe con leche. The only issue that made me give it an excellent rating is the strange smell that comes off of the boiler compartment after use. It might just be that some coffee drips back down and burns. (EDIT: I found that when using another coffee pot that functions in an identical fashion, that there is the same smell after using it, and so I'm guessing that it is in fact just back flow from the brewing process that causes the smell) If you do buy this unit or one like it, make sure to have your coffee beans ground finely, tamped down tightly, and do not use too high of heat or you will burn your coffee beyond recognition. I am going to look for one that is made of stainless steel to see if it makes a difference.

Will be using daily!
As a diehard Keurig fan, I really didn't think this little gadget would do the trick. After making my first cappuccino in under 4 minutes, I am a believer. The espresso pot came with an extra gasket and the company sent me an email containing detailed instructions before I even received the product. And, with Prime, received on Sunday. Doesn't get better than that! After taking apart and cleaning all pieces, I jumped right in and made my first ever at-home cappuccino! (I have been spending a fortune at coffee shops up until now!) I used Lavazzo espresso (1 scoop) and filled the water to right below the valve as the instructions said. I also purchased the Gialetti milk frother at the same time and boy was I happy I did. I nuked about a cup of milk in large glass and then barely touched it with the frother to make lucsious foam. Attached picture was my first attempt at a cappuccino. I sprinkle some cocoa powder on top of foam instead of using sugar. And for those who asked about fat free milk being able to froth up, yes it does!!! Very happy and will only be using the Keurig for when company comes over.

I do recommend another stovetop expresso
It is an Ok product. If you are looking to own for a long period of time, I do recommend another stovetop expresso, as the material or metal in these one isn't as much of a great quality. It does works well, and makes expresso just fine (although I believe in the quality of coffee in first place and then the pot at last). In sum, if you're just looking for a stovetop (or coffee pot, cafetiere, caffettiera, 'some names to use when searching') to make espressos this one just works fine. But if you are looking for high product quality, and a cafetiere to enhance espresso-making quality, I advise a different one.

Handle catches on fire
I loved this maker for the few months I used it...until it caught on fire. I was always careful to follow the instructions that came with the pot, keeping the flame way lower than the bottom of the pot and the handle as far to the edge of the heat source as I could while still getting the pot to boil. Recently I noticed that the plastic handle had started to degrade and appeared to be a bit melted at the bottom, but it was not significant. This morning, as I was making coffee, I started to smell smoke and a burning plastic smell. As I watched, the handle burst into flame (see included pictures). I now have melted plastic dripped all over my burner and the horrible smell of melting plastic throughout my whole home. One would suppose that a manufacturer making a product meant to be used with heat sources, both electric & open flame, would choose to use only materials resistant to heat and flame. Please be aware when choosing this product that there are some serious safety concerns.

Great pot and saving me $$
Love this this pot. I have never used one before and though it cam with no instructions, it was easy to use. The only thing I will say, do not fill the coffee basket full and packed like you do in an electric espresso maker, it will not work! I learned this the hard way, but other than that no problems. I use this with an electric milk frother to make lattes. Saving a ton of $ now that I am not buying expensive coffee chain lattes everyday!
