Good intro to MongoDB
This is a good introduction to the NoSQL concept and using MongoDB. Whether you can -really- get through it in 24 hour long sessions or not is questionable, but the concept layout is good.

Demonstrative of the need to know in Mongo!
OK, like many other 24 hours - No, no not the movie! the books, the ones that are written for every other programming language. This one will is typical and informative. You are going to be able to nail down and get an understanding of NOSQL, hitting it chapter by chapter. In section III, the author shows you how to work with various languages: PHP, Java, Python and Node.js. Enough to get a budding programmer on the roadOne cannot go wrong getting this book as it walks you thru the basics of NOSQL. If you know SQL, then this is NOSQL is something that you must learn as it ubiquity is evident. It will remain active in my library.

If it were up to date or had errata, I would recommend it highly
The book has potential but appears to have been out-of-date before its release. It appears to be based on MongoDB 2.4, even though 2.6 came out three months before publication date, and the errata are extremely limited and don't appear to deal with any of the features that became deprecated or changed in the newer version. I know that tech moves quickly, but when a book which includes "Beginning" in its listed user level has discrepancies between the book and the state of the current version at the time the book is released, errata are a MUST.
