Reviving the Classic Epic of Dungeons and Dragons
As a fan of classic RPGs, I was excited to dive into Neverwinter Nights Enhanced Edition on my PlayStation 4. The game has been enhanced with modern graphics, UI, and controls while still retaining the core gameplay that made it a classic. The campaign is an epic adventure full of intrigue, political maneuvering, and danger. It's a perfect example of how Dungeons and Dragons-style storytelling can be adapted to a video game format. The characters are well-written and diverse, each with their own motivations and backstories that keep you engaged in the narrative. One of the best features of Neverwinter Nights is the ability to create your own adventure with the robust toolset included. Whether you're a Dungeon Master looking to create a custom campaign for your friends or just looking to explore user-generated content, there's no shortage of fun and engaging quests to experience. The gameplay is a combination of real-time action and turn-based combat, with the ability to pause and strategize during battles. The controls have been optimized for console play, making it easy to switch between actions and spells on the fly.Overall, Neverwinter Nights Enhanced Edition is a must-have for fans of classic RPGs and Dungeons and Dragons enthusiasts. The enhancements make the game feel fresh and modern, while still retaining the essence that made it a beloved classic. I highly recommend this game to anyone looking for an immersive and engaging RPG experience on their PlayStation 4.

READ THIS BEFORE BUYING.
Before I get started, I want to point out something very important. Amazon says this has 130+ ratings, with about 4.5 out of 5 stars. Sounds great, right? Well, until you explore that a bit. When we click actual *reviews* and for the PS4, it has... eleven. Seven of those eleven are 1 or 2 star reviews. That means it has an average of about 1.7 stars out of 5, or a 34% positive rating. Now given the millions of dollars tied up in this game, you tell me where you think all the high ratings are coming from... ;)Ok, so the review-I’m not basing this review on any of the online or server issues. Those have been commented on all over. I won’t discuss the price, as it’s dropping hard and fast. Nor am I going to review the gameplay itself, as this game is considered a stone-cold classic for a reason.I just wanted to make two very important points. Please read this carefully and seriously consider what I’m saying before buying the Xbox/Playstation console ports. I was warned about this and didn’t take it seriously, now here I am, pushing advice I didn’t take myself. Don’t be me.1. The text size is WAY too small and there’s no way to change it. That was perfectly fine when you were sitting in front of a PC monitor, but unless you’re sitting a few feet away from the TV, and you have at least a medium-sized TV, it’s unplayable. As in - no exaggeration - it cannot be read. This isn’t even a matter of opinion. I have a 65” TV and unless I’m 4 feet away from the TV, there’s no way to read what’s happening. I cannot stress this point enough! Unless you play games a few feet from your TV, do. not. buy. this. Stand at the back of your room and try to read the disclaimer notes at the bottom of a commercial. It’s worse than that.2. This one is a bit less dire, but will still make the game incredibly frustrating for many people. Unlike Baldur’s Gate and Icewind Dale, Neverwinter Nights does not translate from mouse to controller, and Beamdog changed absolutely nothing whatsoever to make it work. Moving the free-floating icon with a controller is often very uncomfortable and slows the game way down. For instance, need to make the map bigger/smaller? You’re gonna need some serious joystick precision to click that little button. Want to move an item to a different page in your inventory? Have fun trying 5x before you manage to get it to work. And keeping with the issue of being too far from the TV, it becomes nearly impossible unless you’re a few feet from it.I feel like I cannot be emphatic enough about these two problems. They are absolute dealbreakers unless you routinely play your games 3-4 feet from your screen. There’s simply no way to play them. Unless you are someone who plays close to the screen, absolutely positively 1000000% do not buy this. You’ll think back to this review and wonder why you didn’t just trust some nerd on the internet. I have to assume every positive review this game gets is by people who play close to their TV, because there’s no way anyone would ever recommend this otherwise.

Nostalgia Ultra
Just the same game I remember playing 15 years ago, so nice to comfortably play it on the PS4

Good game if you liked the original. Don't listen to the complainers.
This is mostly going to appeal to fans of the original game. Its a port with controller support. Nothing more and nothing less. Im enjoying it but I grew up playing it on PC. Ive only had a few crashes and its pretty obvious that a console port is not going to have player generated mods on it. I dont know why some people are complaining about that on youtube. This is a Bioware RPG so if you liked Kotor or Baldurs Gate, youll probably like Neverwinter Nights' gameplay. My complaints are:The graphics really need a total overhaul. This needs a remake. The game isnt 60fps which is shameful for these graphics.Theres no Infinite Dungeons. Thats the only premium mod that counts.

Move over Bethesda
Todd the God Howard done goofed because this is the most broken game I've ever played in my life. Do not buy the ps4 version of this game! Beamdog studios clearly has no idea what they are doing. Never winter nights is not a complicated game and even fully patched it breaks all the time in ways that dead game my save.

Very cool, oldschool, classic game that I can play on the big screen.

Not an upgraded version of the original.
This game was so fun back in the day I thought it would be fun to play again. You forget how far games have come since then. After an hour it was unplayable for me. If they would have updated it it would have been so much better.
