Games Workshop Citadel Base: Balthasar Gold

"Gold" is a misnomer, as you can see from the image. With that out of the way, let's talk about what this paint is: a smooth, consistent, and absolutely beautiful bronze color that isn't an enamel. This is a base paint, which means you're expected to use it as a first layer over the primer, with a layer paint on top. I did just that with Auric Armour Gold, a paint I don't like very much, but it works—I'm told Gehenna's gold is better. Still, the overall effect is really excellent, and I wouldn't mind a bit using this without a layer, perhaps with a shade of Nuln Oil or Agrax Earthshade to give it some depth. If you're thinking about doing an AdMech army—which I'm sure some of you are if you're looking at this—then look no further. Buy this paint.

Been using it a lot to make things look old. Does a great job. It's a dirty brownish gold color.

i chose it because i was very safley secured in the package but it was hard to get the item out of it's package. i have to say it was a bit to expensive not alot but it was a little i have seen the same paint sell for 3.50. but in all it was a great buy.

Too expensive for the amount you get but good quality.
