Repurchased again 🙄
This game is a love / hate thing for me. I purchased it when it first came out but then quickly traded it in because there were so many micro transactions 😳. However I missed this game because all my friends had it and would eat at me that I didn’t have it. I repurchased it to play worth my friends. Even though I have to grind like crazy it is okay. I truly love the game but wish everything was not a upsell. The game arrived within two days using Amazon prime and was in excellent condition. If this review helped you say so below and thank you.

Good for casual gamers
Good for casual play in quick play mode. The career mode is frustrating because your player sucks starting out, and to upgrade his skills takes a form of game currency slowly earned over time. Unless you pay real money to do the upgrades, it will take forever to advance your player and you’ll keep missing open layups. But if you just play in quick mode your game play is better and you can make shots. Good graphics and good soundtrack.

Fun Stuff
My son bugged me to get this - he loves it. I've enjoyed watching him. And after he showed me some of the basics....like how to dunk and how to increase your chances at shot meter - well, I beat him. He no longer wants to play with me.But, he enjoys the different play modes (blacktop is his current fav). He had the prior version so has a decent amount of hours on the game. What is more fun for me.....playing the "OLD school" players.

A great game riddled with ads and micro transactions
I never truly understood the hate with this game. It's not that bad if you're like me and only buy the newest 2K every 2-3 years. I understand wanting updated rosters, but there's no need to buy one every year. I played park maybe twice this year but between the lag outs and the hackers, it was fairly alright, mostly only went to the park for new clothes to use against friends in the MyCourt. The game performed fairly well never had any issues except not being able to play blacktop online a few times. MyTeam is still the same as every year, MyCareer is okay, MyLeague and MyGM continue to be the same. It's just as I said, its an updated roster with minor tweaks here and there.

NBA 2K20 Lazy port for the Switch
Of course as with all Nintendo Switch ports I expect a little less content and pixel count, however this port goes beyond that in limiting the playability this game. No effort was made to make this game more portable. Additionally I do not see much improvement over 2K19 and for whatever reason they decided NOT to include a KD era Warriors in their historical team roster, you know the most winningest team since the MJ Bulls.MyCareer, for example, is a single player mode that can ONLY be played while online. If you take a pause mid-game the Switch will go into sleep mode and you lose your connection and game session. When I first started this mode downloading my face scan took so long that I had to keep touching my Switch to prevent it from going into sleep mode and starting over.Compare this to Blizzard’s Diablo 3 port. D3 was previously exclusively only an online game, but when brought to the Switch they took the time to ensure the game was portable and could handle not being connected 24/7.When I first got this title I had to restart the initial update patch several times due to the game not being able to handle losing connectivity while in sleep mode. Unfortunately the interface did not indicate it was resuming where it left off so it was unclear to me if I needed to literally sit there and watch my Switch and move it to prevent sleep mode.I like NBA 2K. Last year I got NBA 2K19 on the Switch after having owned and played it on the Xbox. However this year I went exclusively with the Switch and the glaring omissions and lazy approach to this port really highlight this versions’s short comings.
