I used this rubber grommet to route a Starlink (Gen 2) cable through the exterior wall of my house. The proprietary cable with large connector ends requires a larger than desired hole. This item is ideal for an exterior wall as it is flexible rubber. The hole is a bit small for the Starlink cable so I used a craft knife to enlarge the hole. I also used a silicone-based adhesive to seal the grommet to the wood siding. It provided a nice solution for me!

This item is great if you have a bigger 3/4 hole than needed, You would have to make the hole bigger. Other than that it seems to be a good product that will stay in my tool box until I have to plug a 1" hole!

The short and sweet review is that this is a perfect solution for a weathertight through wall installation of the Startlink V2. Keep in mind that you will want to disconnect the cable from the dish and run in from the inside to the outside not from the outside it due to the connector shape. In my case after running the cable I sprayed expandable foam in the hole first (only a small amount) then put a bead of silicone around the grommet and pressed it in to the hole. Finally I added a thin line along the split in the grommet.

Used to bring outdoor/bury Cat8 ethernet into an accessory building that is my home office. As other reviewers stated, use 1 1/4" hole saw or auger bit for a perfect fit. My ethernet cable had a larger diameter so I had to drill it out a little. I used it with stucco on the house, duratemp on the out building and on drywall (so I could just carry the cable through and keep the run as short a possible). Snug fit on all three materials and looks great!

I like its simplicity and the instructions that come with the grommet. They come individually and a limit of 3 per order. What you can't find out until they are delivered is the size hole to drill for them if you want to get your application usable before they arrive. The size hole to drill is 1.25 in. (31.75 mm) - these are from the instruction sheet. Garmin was not able to answer this simple question.
