Pan Precooked Yellow Corn Flour 1 kg

Purchased on a whim as I had a fancy to try to make Arepas. These are South American cornmeal 'biscuits' that you treat like bread rolls in as much as you fill them with cheese, or pulled pork, or chicken salad, or whatever else you fancy. This pre-cooked cornmeal is perfect for Arepas as it forms a dough almost immediately. I would say to go easy on the salt, the recipe I used called for 2 tsp, I would suggest 1 to 1 1/2 tsp. I love polenta. This is similar but the grains are a lot smaller, the flavour of the corn is lovely in both.

Upon trying to find ingredients for a crunchy chicken fry-up, I realised that I had run out of corn flour. A quick amazon search found them available for prime delivery at an incredibly low price. It was mesmerising! A high quality but cheap ingredient on next day delivery. I jumped at the chance and I was so pleased! Will definitely buy again

I am not good at cooking, yet this product is very easy to use. just follow the instructions and you would get great arepas.

I noticed it has a VERY, VERY FINE Ground. (Corn Grains) I honestly was expecting it to have a higher ground. Corn flour should not be as fine as white flower. (It is not exactly the same in terms of fine grinding but close enough). I don't say it is bad like this - I just want people to be aware of this fact. For what i want to use it, its not exactly ideal.

Bit expensive for the size compared to its competitors also compared to the white corn meal in the same brand which is half the price but it makes for great pastelles at Christmas for Trini living in the UK

La de siempre, ideal para empanadas, arepas fritas y, por supuesto, para las tradicionales hallacas.

È la farina di mais precotta per fare (tra tante cose) le “arepas”, piatto tipico del Venezuela (ed altri paesi latinoamericani). Fatta con il mais giallo, contrariamente alla farina Pan bianca, la gialla è più difficile da reperire. Il prodotto è ottimo, fatto in Italia, scadenza lunga, arriva a casa in pochissimo tempo. Se devo trovare una pecca è il costo, che mi sembra un pò troppo… ma per il restto tutto perfetto. Consigliato!
