Enhances Coffee Flavor with Balanced Minerals—A Must-Have for Espresso and Brew Precision
After experimenting with different water types, this mineral-enhanced coffee water stood out by noticeably improving the clarity and depth of flavor in every cup. The precise mineral balance is designed to optimize extraction, reducing bitterness and highlighting subtle notes in espresso and brewed coffee alike. It’s especially convenient for those who want consistent results without the hassle of measuring and mixing minerals themselves. One downside is the relatively small packet size, which means you’ll need to reorder fairly often if you brew daily. Also, it’s best suited for those using filtered or distilled water as a base, so it’s not a one-step solution for all water sources. Still, for anyone serious about elevating their coffee experience, this product is a simple and effective addition.

Home Espresso Upgrade
We have extremely hard water where I live, so I have a reverse osmosis system at my kitchen sink. Adding TWW to the RO water has made for great tasting espresso, and is much better for the inner workings of my expensive espresso machine.

Not a Be-All-End-All Solution, but Still Good
For what it's worth, I almost rated this much, much lower. My water at home is egregiously hard and makes even my favorite coffees taste like trash water. Brita water fares only slightly better, and spring water is too varied and unreliable for long-term solutions. Coffee Reddit swears by the remineralization of distilled water, and these packets are touted as the simplest method. My first experience with them was not good. While my coffee didn't taste like garbage, it was very dull tasting—like drinking a coffee while suffering from the common cold. Despite being catered towards lighter roast coffees, this product makes water a bit too hard still to properly extract the fruit-like acidity of many light roast coffees—particularly those from East Africa. It took some experimenting, but ultimately I was able to find a way to make Third Wave Water work for my coffee and my taste buds. For more acidic and "wild flavored" coffees, like those from Ethiopia or Kenya, I use about 60% - 70% Third Wave Water and 30% - 40% straight distilled water to lower the overall hardness and accommodate that fruity acidity. For light-medium or medium roast coffees, particularly those from central or south America with more chocolate/caramel/nutty flavors, you can use it at nearly full strength.Like I said, it takes a little bit of trial and error to fit your personal tastes, but I enjoy how simple this makes the water portion of coffee. $18 makes 12 gallons of water which will last an insane amount of time if you, like me, make smaller cups (8oz.) and dilute to fit your taste. Despite my initial impressions, I am actually impressed and will keep using these moving forward.

I never knew how much I needed this
Absolutely a game changer in terms of profile taste and extending the life on my machine. My water is generally pretty hard so to be able to give my machine distilled water with just the minerals needed to target my coffee needs. It's been a noticeable and welcomed difference.

Pricey, convenient to use, machine safe( hopefully)
It is hard to evaluate this product objectively.I use RO water and add this additive .My TDS on the RO water is 16. Considering the very hard tap water we have - it’s great. The hardness in our RO water is 0.When adding the third wave - hardness goes up, obviously, due to the addition of Mg and Ca. and TDS goes to 130-150.The pH of the new solution is 6.7, not ideal but acceptable. The only issue I have is the alkalinity: we shoot towards 40, but with the sticks I use, I can’t tell if it’s 0,40 or anywhere in between.I also noticed that the pH of the solution tends to rise toward 7+ over time...Taste: I think that there are so many variables in each shot I pull : distribution, tamping, room temperature, humidity etc- very difficult to say what is the relative contribution of this additive to my water.I am hoping that the added Mg is helping with the flavour extraction...., and that this solution is safe for my espresso machine( LMLM).Summary : overpriced for sure, very convenient though, seems safe ( per la Marzocco people) and sometimes when I do a good job, coffee tastes like heaven!😊

Easy, affordable, effective, and delicious
I love these as a solution to the problem of coffee water. Rather than worry about the ph and mineral balance of your tap, or mess around with expensive spring water to find what you like best, you can just buy dirt cheap distilled water, add a packet, and rest assured that you have a perfect mineral balance for your coffee. The water I make with these results in delicious light roast filter coffee, and I’m looking forward to trying their other roast profiles. They’re also surprisingly inexpensive; 12 gallons of water should last months, and assuming a 12 oz cup of coffee, these only cost about $0.13 per cup, which is a small price to pay for the increase in quality. I have not tried any competing coffee water solutions, of which I know there are a few, but I’m very happy with these.
