I bought a boat that had been sitting for about a year. When I drained the fuel tank, was shocked at what I found. The fuel (gas with 10% ethanol) had separated (there was a layer of what looked like milk and then the gas "floating" on top). A must have when storing gas for long periods and when storing equipment (chainsaws,lawnmower, etc) for a few months. Helps keep the ethanol in fuel from damaging carburetors in small engines. Plus it help keeps gasoline fresher longer.

Not much to say from a layperson's point of view. Does this actually work? It seems to - I apply it religiously after each refuel and have not had any fuel issues with my OB motor - a 250 Evinrude e-tec G2. I've got a pretty large gas tank for the boat's size so there's always gas left after a run and even between seasons and again, I've never had a fuel problem - so I suppose it works. It's an ounce of prevention proposition.The bottle is convenient - the squeeze to measure feature with the long neck applicator is handy so you don't need to guess or use an outside measuring container - just squeeze an ounce at a time and pour it into your tank until you hit the desired ratio of stabilizer to fuel. And if you have a gigantic gas tank you can just upend the bottle through the non-metered spout.I'm not sure why it has to be blue. I'm guessing Stabil went with a marine theme but I'd just as well have it clear or as clear as they can make it. If your wax job is not up to snuff and there's a gust of wind while you're pouring (or some jerk doesn't observe the no-wake rule) this stuff will temporarily stain your white gel coat. It seems to bleach away in the sun though, but it takes a while. Otherwise - it seems to do what it's supposed to do and is cheap insurance against the problems that old or water-infiltrated gas can cause.
