Tommy Bahama Backpack Beach 2

I’d like to start by saying that I love this chair. It’s been my beach chair for 6 summers, and it’s the best beach chair I’ve ever owned. That said there are a few things I wish I’d known when I first bought it. Some of the joints and rivets are prone to rust. I’d been warned about that, and I always made a point to rinse it down with fresh water after a day at the beach, and store it in a dry garage in the off season. Even so as you can see in my pictures some rust has still developed. Now I spray those spots with WD40 at the beginning, and end of the summer. That seems to help. I’ve seen some reviews claim that the chair is hard to fold. That’s only true until you learn the trick of it. You have to yank the legs apart, and then push them back together. That pops the mechanism into the right position for easy folding. Beware of official knockoffs. Tommy Bahama makes cheaper versions of this chair. They are usually sold in wholesale clubs, and other big retailers. You can spot them because they have wooden arm rests. When I bought this chair in 2018, my wife thought I was spending too much on a beach chair, and bought the cheaper version. Her’s broke the first time she sat in it. She decided my chair was worth the money after sitting in it for the rest of that trip, and we bought her the real deal the next summer. Enjoy your beach days everyone.

Love this chair! Lightweight, easy on your shoulders and back. Perfect storage areas! Makes going to beach so much easier by not having to carry so much stuff! Highly recommend. Worth the money!

We purchased two of these chairs a few years back at Costco, our kids are finally old enough and big enough to have their very own chairs. This makes it easy to get all your gear to the beach or campsite— you can easily stuff a beach blanket in the seat and the clip it and sling the backpack chair and you’re off! These chairs hold up exceptionally well and worth the money. The cooler pouch is large enough to stuff a few beverages and keeps them cool. The top zipper is also great— perfect to add your phone and other things.

very comfy and I liked the little pouch you can use to put some ice in and keep drinks sort of cold. Can't ask for to much for a beach chair!! :-) Great design and would buy another if needed.
