This pepper sprayer is easy to use, small enough to conceal, with a comfortable yet confident grip. It also has a safety cover over the trigger button which is spring-loaded to prevent accidental self-macing and insure the business end is facing the right direction. I take it everywhere: Jogging, backpacking, camping, running errands, grocery shopping, and even while visiting family. You never know when they’ll get a wild hair and try something funny, ya know? It sprays about 10 feet in a solid stream. After around 4-5 feet the stream begins to arch downward. It hits the ground at 10 feet. But pepper spray is for when you can feel their breath on your face, or at least see the crazed look in their eyes, or just the one eye, so the function is spot-on. It burns like hell for a bit. Enough to make me drop to my knees for a while and vacate my cranium of all the mucus and tears it can muster. In a nutshell, this is a great non lethal deterrent for ne’er-do-wells and vicious animals human-sized or smaller. I tested it a few times, once on myself. I took one for the team so you can buy with confidence.

I like the design of this pepper spray. The tab keeps you from spraying it accidentally. You have to put your finger under the tab to engage it. This is where I keep my finger when I walk past a house in my neighborhood that has two large dogs. Occasionally, one of them will be outside with it’s owner when I walk by Several weeks ago, one of the dogs was outside on a leash with its owner. When it saw me and my dog, it broke free and charged at us. I stood screaming as I did my best to spray it with my pepper spray. It was practically on top of us for the first spray. I missed, but the dog must have breathed some of it in, because it retreated about 10 feet. I sprayed again and missed a second time, but the spray got close enough to warn the dog. It turned around and went back to its owner. Needless to say, I was shaking. But thanks to the pepper spray, my dog and I were unharmed. About four years ago, another dog from this same property attacked my little schnauzer as I walked down the street. It picked her up and shook her like a rag doll. Thankfully, the owner was able to open his dog’s jaws to release my little one, but not before my Molly suffered a neck wound. Since then, I have not been out for a walk without my pepper spray in hand.

It’s a nice size you can slip into your purse or in your vehicle. I hope I don’t have to use it, but it’s nice to know it’s there!

The thing I like about this design is that it is self-aiming. In other words, in a panic situation she grabs it out of her purse/pocket, etc. and even if it is dark she can feel the little flip up spring loaded safety -- flip it up and put her finger on the button and it is aimed in the direction he finger is pointed. No chance that she will inadvertently spray herself in the face, etc. Big enough for multiple squirts and good range too. It also has a UV dye that isn't visible to the attacker so once he is all cleaned up and feeling jolly and the cops maybe ask him for an "interview" they bring out a UV lamp and he lights up like a neon sign saying, "I AM GUILTY!" I like that also. This is a non-lethal defensive device legal in many states -- check your state and locality to see if you can use it. if you can't you can still use it in your home and on your property in ALL states. Maybe good for women (and men) who like to walk --- can be used to deter vicious dogs and other animals too.
