Good book for Hiking Trails
Great book to put in the backpack while hiking. Good descriptions of trails. Used this to find our hiking trails.

Useful info
We went to Vail area in July and wanted to do some moderate day hiking. This book is more intended for easy hiking, but one can extend the distance to make it moderate or even difficulty. Eventually we choose Missouri Lake, Shrine Ridge and Upper Piney River Falls - all very beautiful. What I like the best is the direction to trail heads - which could be difficulty sometimes.

Some misleading information
The book has some good hikes, but several of the descriptions include misleading information. Some of the hikes were at the end of such bad roads that we thought our tires were going to be punctured by huge boulders or our car was going to get stuck in the gravel. My wife was so traumatized that she wanted to give up on our hiking trip. Furthermore, most of the hikes had a steeper grade than indicated. I feel that it is important for prospective hikers to know this.

Good reference
We purchased the Kindle version prior to heading out on our trip and in fact did use this in addition to several other references. It listed quite a few hikes that did not show up in our other books or the info at the National Forest office - so yes, would definitely recommend this as a reference for quick hikes in the area.
