yes yes...
Are you that crazy old timer who sharpens your old hand saws? If so....Yes, this is the file for you! Look, I just love Nicholson. I have about 10 of their files of various types, and they are the best files for the price, period.Add in that they are made in the USA...Buy them if you need a file. Pay the extra buck, and have a file for life....

Works well for sharpening hand saws.
Used this to sharpen an old saw I have. It worked very well. I find I need the tool to angle the saw teeth though, to finish it off. Some on here were saying that the sides of the file didn't have the notched edges cut all the way through. I did not experience that. If you recieve a file like that, return it, because that would defeat the purpose. Worked for me. I made sure mine was cut all the way around though.

This Nicholson triangular machete taper file is just exactly like the one I and my wife Pabla use in Viento Frio to dress the edges of our SOG KNIVES and MACHETES W/With and without saw tooth backs.. You'll not go wrong or not to wrong but if you run into trouble before you get in to deep of trouble, Call PanamáCris and I'll bail you out. PanamáCrid

Defintely not as nice as the AMERICAN made Nicholson files were.
I'd give these 5 stars if they were well made and made in the USA. They are made in Mexico and are definitely NOT up to the standards of Nicholson when they were produced in the US. I'm going to find an American made brand and boycott Nicholson after these become worn out.

Fair.
Looks good. Didn't work as well as the other one I bought. I'm going to assume its just too fine a grain to file the excess on the gun sight.
