Love this lighter. A real zippo in a color. It lights every time and was a great value

I bought a lighter because matches, over the past 25 years, have become cheaply made & useless. The striker strip is never coarse enough (wears easily) & the match heads have a poor blend to give a quality strike/spark. I have read that manufacturers had to modify how matches were made for safe shipping. In years past, matches had caused numerous fires due to heat & friction during transport. In the process, though, current matches no longer provide an effortless function.Some things never get old. I have never smoked or cleared fields, but I am intrigued with this lighter. I can remember Zippo lighters as a child (during the 50s & 60s), watching adults light up cigarettes & start small brush fires while clearing off a field. And I never heard anyone complain about their Zippo, except when they had failed to replace the flint or add fuel. This is my first lighter.The Zippo has solid construction & a simplistic mechanism. It is transportable, easy to fuel & maintain. And best of all, there's always an effortless flame to light grills or start backyard fire pits. The flame is the proper size & it's not easily distinguished during small gusts of wind. And with a lifetime warranty on the guts of the lighter, why wouldn't I recommend. It's a win-win!

I was throughly let down when this lighter didn’t light upon arrival; nothing tells you it ships empty and need lighter fuel. A couple days lighter when my lighter fluid arrived, there is no paperwork on how to fill it. So I proceeded to figure it out and lost the flint. Moral of the story, you must familiarize yourself with this style lighter. Watch the video on manufacturers website on how to fill it. It’s basic and easy if you’re familiar. To fill, remove lighter from case, flip over, remove screw carefully (spring loaded) and roll over to drop flint out of screw hole, remove thick pad, pour Zippo lighter juice into cotton (not the screw hole), remove excess fuel by rolling over in a safe location, put thick pad back, drop flint into screw hole, replace spring screw, wipe down, put into outer case. THERE MAY BE RESIDUAL FUEL SO I DONT RECOMMEND BEING COOL AND LIGHTING IT RIGHT AWAY

(((IMPORTANT INFORMATION PLEASE READ)))I CIRCLED IN YELLOW THE ISSUE PREVENTING A 5 STAR RATING FOR ME IT IS WORTH KNOWING.(I WILL NOW GO INTO DISCUSSION ABOUT PAINT JOB ISSUES THAT MAY BOTHER SOME).What can I say . LEGENDARY SURVIVAL ORANGE ZIPPO?!!?!? THIS is LITTERALY an unquestionably MANDATORY purchase. Now I jus need the yellow 1.Buy the matte orange u won't be disappointed!!!INLESS!!!!!.....IT DOES SEEM AND APPEAR TO BE THE CASE.... and I'm not sure who is responsible but the hinge on this matte orange zippo has dabs of the ORANGE PAINT ON IT and it just looks off.It looks low quality it looks and gives bad BAD paint job. And if ur that dude who takes every dollar u spend seriously u may be bothered by this.And justifiably so.🤷‍♂️ . BUT IF u can look past it and accept it more than likely bein the case then the rest of it is a worthy LEGENDARY piece to overlook THAT ABSOLUTELY VERY ANNOYING JUST BAD QUALITY FLAW.IT IS IN MY CONCLUSION TO GIVE this matte orange zippo 4 stars!!!!I would have given it 5 stars. But as I said. And if u check my pics u will see the paint on the hinge. It just shouldn't be there. IT SHOULD EITHER BE FULLY PAINTED. OR SHOULD HAVE BEEN PROPERLY COVERED when painting the case.If I wasn't obsessed with survival orange I'd be at 3 stars.Bottom line conclusion it's still awsome if u can look past that 1 flaw.That's all I got hope my review helped u make ur decisions. This is great. I'm not a smoker so this only gets occasional use. I bought the butane insert and sold the standard lighter fluid insert that came with this on ebay. I wish they would either sell these without the innards, or with the butane insert, so I don't have to buy and sell stuff that I don't need.

Thought it would be great for my husband who is always losing his black zippo, just more visible. It worked!
