A bargain overall.
The media could not be loaded. I purchased this primarily for the IR/Night Vision aspect, and was pleasantly surprised considering the price. This uses a fixed focus lens, and the "Zoom" is a function of the firmware programed into the camera; which just means you are using less of the image sensor area and the image output (recording) uses an algorythm to enlarge the reduced image area being utilized on the sensor. The result is not bad, but as you increase the Zoom, the more digital noise becomes noticed in the image. You can see this in the video I made, when you look at the stems of the shrubs in the distance, they are not "crisp". I shot this in 2K mode, and rendered down to HD resolution with the editing program. Image size does matter when editing, and this camera does give you video of nice quality to work with. The IR mode is accessed via the "light bulb" button on the remote, there is no corresponding button on the camera itself. The remote will function reliably from the front or the rear of the camera. This camera does follow file creation in a similar way to what Go Pro and some action cams do, and that is just that one video will also produce a thumbnail the (".THM files"), a 240x360 low resolution video which is an MP4, as the main file with extension of ".SEC" in adition to the main video file output with the extension ".MP4". The Camera also does incorporate data compression for video and stills which can increase digital noise in the images, and this setting is not adjustable. You can use an IR illuminator in many cases, or even a regular flashlight as the sensor and camera CPU are working as a "Light Amplifier". Useful video resolution in IR mode is 2K, and the distance you can resolve details of the subject will depend on light that is available, but do not expect the same level of image definition as you would see in videos shot with indoor lighting or daylightCurrent units have the still image area as high as 48 MegaPixels, the resulting image file size is closer in size to those of a 6 Megapixel camera. Not a terrible thing, but large prints made from those images will have a soft focus appearance. It accepts 37mm camera filters, though the plastic you thread your filters to is a little soft, with modest care you should have no issues. If you want to make videos with vibrant colors in autumn (or other times of year), you will want to have a "Linear Polarizer" as you will see color intensifying when setting the shot up, as you rotate the filter (Rotating the Linear Polarizing filter 90 degrees from your peak color, will mute the colors while also making water reflections or windows of a building more reflective. A "Circular Polarizer" only perks up color slightly, and rotating a CP filter does nothing more.). Due to how the camera is made, you will get "ghost images" as demonstrated in the video when cam is pointed towards the moon, so keeping that in mind for use at night and avoiding (when possible), light sources being immediately in front of the camera..As you see in the video a lot of camera movement due to it being hand held, which I try to avoid doing for this very reason (though you see such camera motion being done on purpose on TV and movies for that "Documentary Style".). Adding a "cage" Like the Zeadio can help reduce excess camera motion as you have more to hold onto, or possibly an inexpensive gimbal for even smoother image recording. Or just use a tripod (Even with the cage attached to the camera.).Overall, this is a decent camera, especially for the IR aspect. If you are hunting ghosts with this, this is not a bad way to go. For budding videographers, this is a good starting point all the around, but what I found with a high end editing program, the ends of each video are "rough" which just means you have to trim a few frames off each end, or the video tends to halt at the edit points when rendering. There is an issue in the firmware, minor, but it prevents the camera memory card from being recognized when plugged into a computer running Windows 10. Leaving ejecting the SD card to download as the only option (use care as dropping the card even 1 foot can in some cases erase files.). There are inexpensive card readers available, so a good "add on" to consider at check out.I tried to present many of the conditions one might use this camera for. Indoor performance was fine and as you would expect; so I chose to show those situations you may only think of as after thought. The faults with the camera are few. Be aware most importantly of the fact that the "image counter" of the camera resets to zero if the battery is removed or allowed to run down to zero charge; which means you should either unload the video segments from the SD card at the end each shooting period, or carry extra SD cards and swap those when you change the battery. However, of important note is the camera can operate "tethered" via the USB cord to an external battery (With no battery in the camera, I tested specifically for this.) (or even via the wall adapter you use for charging.). The counters will be "remembered" as long as the battery is not removed or discharged excessively,

Battery life sucks
Bought to record work. A brand new battery died in an hour. Then it dying corrupted the file so what it did get wasn't useful

Not worth the frustration
Batteries last only 10-15 minutes so even having 2 doesn't help. Remote works part of the time, randomly stops recording (with motion turned off), you may have to click the on or pause button several times to get the camera to work.

Buy your own SD card
Everything is greate the packaging the quality worth the money. However, this is my first camera i have ever bought and an SD card is needed or the camera won’t film nor take pictures of anything

More than expected
I bought it because it was advertised 2k video, but it has 4k option inside. I tried to record a clip to see what 's going on and I really got 4k video . The sound is clear with built in mic, I don't know how the sound will be if using external mic . In addition, there is a charger that allow you to charge the batteries not to use the camcorder like other brand that I have already tried . The remote control is working fine, but after turning off the device, I cannot turn it on by using the remote, but have to put the power button . Overall, with around $60, you cannot go wrong with this . This review is written after few days of using, I do not know if it will last long , I might come back to update this review .

You get what you paid for!!!
This is a really cute compact video camera, but it is very difficult to use. The touch screen is iffy and it will say the SD card isn’t detected wont format it once it has been detected the SD card has to be reformatted every time you turn on the devices and than after it formats the SD card it removes what was on it from before so you continuously lose videos. I started to remove the SD card before turning on the camera and than putting it in and formatting. I have to take the videos off the SD card after every use or I will lose that video.

Poorly made product and terrible customer service!
I purchased a camcorder and it worked for a few times and then it stopped working and charging, I tried to get help several times from the seller, but I didn't get the email telling me that I could return it for a refund. So the 30 days past so I was not able to get a refund, I wrote to the seller several times over the following year and I asked for different options so charge it as this was the problem, it was able to be charged by one USB port, nothing else was put into the device to charge the batteries, I requested a battery charger that I would buy, and on and on. I just found out that this whole time I had a one year manufacturer warranty, that the seller NEVER BOTHERED TO MENTION, DO I JUST MISSED THE CUT OFF OF THAR WARRANTY,SO now I'm left with an expensive useless paper weight, and you can imagine how angry I am with both the seller and Amazon!!! Wow great way to treat a good customer..I'm so .... actually I am very ticked off at how this was handled so poorly!!!

I guess you get what you paid for
Camera is functional. Doesn't pick up light well at all. Videos are grainy and dark.
