Great Customer Service
We gave our 5-year-old grandson the Classic Train set for Christmas and he absolutely loved it. But like most 5-year-olds he's a bit rough on his toys and has broken one of the tracks. I reached out to the retailer (Altasonix) on their website to purchase replacement parts. I was looking to purchase the single track but was willing purchase a whole new set of tracks as back-up as other track pieces break. Honestly, being that the trainset was so reasonably priced, I probably would've just purchased a new set altogether since he loved it so much!Emma from Altasonix responded to me immediately and informed me that at this time they do not sell replacement parts for the set but she would make a one-time exception to replace the entire set FREE of charge. I informed her that I was not looking for a free replacement and am willing to pay for the replacement. As I mentioned before the set was so reasonably priced getting it replaced for free seemed as if I was looking to take advantage. But Emma refused to take payment and requested my name and address to send the new unit. This was on a Monday. I didn't get back to Emma until I believed Tuesday of that week.Emma responded to me on Thursday and informed me that she had shipped the new unit to my address here in AZ and that it was scheduled to arrive Saturday. To our surprise the unit arrived on Friday! I replaced the broken track and our grandson was once again enjoying his train set.I was extremely pleased with the level of response and the high degree of customer service demonstrated by this retailer (Altasonix) and would not ONLY recommend them but look forward to doing business with them in the future. This was a 5-star experience both in the timeliness of the product delivery and the customer service. Thank you, Emma and staff.

Perfect size and sound!
We got this train for our 3 kids ages 4 - 7, and they LOVE it! It was super simple to assemble the track, and that’s a big plus for little fingers. Some may say the track comes apart easily, but I think that’s actually a pro for this, as it still lays flat and put together if on a solid surface. The train is a little tricky to lay on the track correctly, but that is a case for most toy trains. It also helps my kids work on their skills to be steady and calm and patient. The batteries are easy to replace, and it’s nice it’s just 2 AA. The train is not too loud either! I was a little worried it would be obnoxious, but it’s not at all. Just enough to make it fun.The age says 3+, and I think that’s just perfect, if you have an adult to help. We did have a break already, but I can fix it easily with some crazy glue. But my kids are a little tough on toys. Thanks for a great product!

Fun Train Set for Kids with Room for Improvement in Design
The media could not be loaded. The Atlasonix Electric Train Set is a good choice for kids but requires some adult intervention to set up correctly. While the train is fun and engaging, there are a few points to consider. The connection clamps between the compartments could be sturdier, as they break easily. It’s also important to carefully align the train on the track; otherwise, it won’t run smoothly. Setting up the track requires attention, as improper assembly can cause the tracks to fall during play. It’s an enjoyable toy for kids, but it would benefit from a more durable design and a more straightforward setup process.

It's cute but...
To go around the Christmas tree. The instructions say the track snaps together. They slide together. Track must be on a completely flat surface or it will come apart. Previous sections come apart when you try to add the next section. To overcome this, lay a book down on the joint of the last section put together.Needs to have a switch to turn off sound. After 10 minutes the Mrs. said it was cute but can you turn it off. I took apart the locomotive and cut the wire to the sound module. After an hour she was tired of hearing the hollow plastic rumble of it running on the plastic track. Turned it off until the Mrs. left to go shopping.Would be better to have a wall power pack. When our daughter got to turn it on the batteries had been replaced with expired dollar store carbon batteries. Put fresh batteries in, and our daughter loved it. She loved playing with the horses, giving them a ride in the hopper freight car. And cutting sprigs off the tree, trimming them to shape, putting spray snow on them and sparkles, and putting them in the freight car to deliver Christmas trees. It runs about 5 hours on a set of batteries.Once the difficulties were overcome it was cute. The locomotive has a nice Christmassy look to it. Our daughter loved playing with it. She found plastic reindeer at he store to put in the hopper with the trees. Next year though I will try our luck at getting a more expensive model train level of set that will be quieter and has a wall power pack.

Don't buy
This train set is cheaply made. The train it self is ok, but the tracks or not made for kids. The train jumps the tracks because it's not made for touching. More so it's made for displaying only hands off or you will probably cause the train to not work by pulling the thin electric card a loose that supply the caboose to move. Not for kids!! To cheap more for display only! Good to listen too. Also the men or made of thin chewable plastic that could be a choking hazard if your child chew on small objects.
