A most delicious, witty mystery cloaked in satire! These old gals have cooked up the most proactive and imaginative solution to their predicament ever known! SeCoy dandles the reader, begging for more, between high drama and a belly laugh. When you are 80-something years old, why not live in prison, where there is security, free food and medical care, and the company of other, younger women? Our heroines have been accosted on all sides by street criminals and are barely squeaking by on their tiny pensions - and have nowhere to go anyway. They surely don't want to end up in a wretched nursing home, where everyone is old and ill and just waiting "for the last bell to ring." A delightful cast of characters and a most innovative plot; I couldn't put the book down, and hated for it to end. The Bag Lady war is so visual - it would make a great movie.

This book is entertaining and funny, yet has a very clear message about life today, too. I've read it twice, and enjoyed it so much that I shared it with a number of women I work with. It was definitely a topic of discussion as we compared portions of the book that we all found hilarious. The copy of the book that I just recently purchased from Amazon.com is to be a gift from one of my co-workers to her parents. To me, that's one of the best recommendations of a book; the fact that others enjoyed it so much that they, too, want to share it with loved ones.I hope you get the opportunity to read this hilariously entertaining book, and that you enjoy it as much as my co-workers and I have.

Oh did I love this book. It has to become a movie and I'm ready for a sequel.I love the characters and was wishing I could do some of the things they did.Author knows her stuff re life.

The Bag Lady War is a satirical explanation of why increasing numbers of poor or sick elders stage armed bank robberies...to get access to the medical care, regular meals, and SAFETY that our exorbitantly funded prisons offer!A very topical "must read"!

The Bag Lady War was delivered just as described and delivery was fast. I haven't read the book yet but my sister in law did and enjoyed the book. I look forward to reading it soon.

Really great funny and thought provoking book! Loved it the first time, and even more the second!!!

This could have been a good book but is so poorly written I had to force myself to finish it. A high school English teacher would grade this a "C".

Time for a wake up call and this cold be it even though it is funny, it is a very serious problem.
