I bought a house 3 years ago which has a primary shower with a very narrow drain opening.It's far too narrow to reasonably use a snake or other physical method of removing clogs.Fast forward some 4 months into ownership and the water was standing and it was getting to my ankles while taking a shower.No big deal, I've used drain opener powder (lye) before. 3 treatments and no improvement.Okay, I used Liquid Plumr in my old apartment to clear out a, presumably, beard hair clog.The big jug and 4 separate uses and the clog was still there. It's time for some research.I came across this and was skeptical but hopeful. It only had one treatment.If it didn't work it was a(nother) waste of money.Poured it in, let it sit for 20 minutes, and flushed it out. Next day... no backup. A week later... rapid draining. 6 months later like it's connected to a vacuum cleaner.A year and a half later aaannnddd yeah it's getting slow. I held my breath and poured it in. After that, I was good for well over a year. Here we are a few weeks after its third use and it's working as intended.Now, my hair grows extraordinarily quickly and I shed *a lot* of hair. You likely will not have to repeat use. Still, a bottle every 18 months for the cost of a coffee? Far better than a plumber.I won't comment on its use in a sink as I've only used it in a shower drain.(In that case, you could probably just remove the trap, plug the sewer pipe, clear the clog, and reassemble. It only takes a few minutes.)Finally: tips, for any kind of drain-clearing product: They will all say to run *hot* water to clear the product.The ideal way to do this is to:Run the sink next to the shower until piping hot.Place a large bowl under the tub spout until the water in the water is hot.Move bowl and run the hottest water possible through the drain for 30 seconds or so.Amazon's asking me to comment on the safety: keep this away from children on a high shelf. Strength: strong enough to easily clear the clog. Smell: it smells like bleach you'd use in laundering white clothing. I'd wait at least 30 minutes after usage before taking a shower or spending significant time in the bathroom.

For weeks have had a slow but very steady & progressively getting worse tub & shower drain clog/ buildup.Almost certain it due to years of hair accumulation in the pipes. I cut my hair at home then shower afterwards.Previously, periodically used white vinegar, toilet plunger etc...But those were short term surface remedies. Something more powerful & industrial was needed.Poured the entire bottle down the drain as instructed. Takes a little while for it to all fully go down since it's a thick gel. Some of it lingers around the drain on the bottom of the tub. Was pleasantly surprised at the minimal chemical smell & didn't seem to damage the glaze on my tub.Right around that 15 min. mark I turned on the faucet all the way to the hot. Pretty much instantly saw a difference. Later on I took my regular nighttime shower. So far, the contrast (before & after) was night & day improvement.

This worked like a dream. I just moved into a new apartment and saw a bunch of hair just sitting in the open drain so I poured this whole bottle in and left it for awhile since I was still moving so probably an hour when I came back and flushed down some hot water the drain looked brand new not a hair in sight and the water was flowing right down. Will come back to this product for any drain clogs

I bought this because my bathroom sink was draining painfully slow, and I suspected a hair clog. I followed the directions, poured the gel directly into the drain, let it sit overnight, and then flushed with hot water. To my surprise, the clog was completely gone—the water now flows freely like new.I used to rely on the Liquid-Plumr Pro-Strength Clog Destroyer Gel with PipeGuard, but a friend recommended this version to me. I decided to give it a try, and it worked just as well—if not better. Very satisfied with the results, and I’ll definitely use this again for future clogs.

This did a fantastic job on my shower drain! Have to knock it down a star because the bottle that came had clearly been opened before (the plastic seal around the lid was removed and there was some leakage in the box), and their Amazon policy for this type of situation apparently boils down to "sucks to be you."

This worked perfectly! I bought a house last year and the drain in the shower was working fine - but not super good. I have a lot of hair and I try not to let it go down the drain but there's a lot and I miss most of it. I have a septic system and am always concerned about too much going down the drain. While my drain was not clogged, it was getting slower so I decided to try this proactively. One bottle and my drain is working like a charm. It's not super expensive so it really fit the bill and did exactly what I needed it to do! One bottle worked perfectly.

In short, it worked for my slow tub drain! My daughter has a lot of hair. Slow drain due to hair clogs is just a part of life for us. I have been loyal to using Thrift pellets but started shopping around for another option. I figured for the price of this product, it wouldn’t hurt to test. I followed the instructions plus an additional 30 minutes before running hot water. I’m happy with the results! Drain is now running proficiently and I will 100% purchase this product again when needed. Make sure to use the entire bottle as instructed. I saved a small fraction of gel and placed in sink drain just to test.
