Great for swim instruction!
Swim instructor of 15 years here. This is a great jacket for the pool to keep the sun off you and keep you a little warmer. I hate getting shivered out of the water and this definitely helps. I'm usually not swimming the whole time, but more moving back and forth across the pool with my students.Important note: I would recommend this jacket to teachers or for someone that wants a layer while around the water boating, kayaking, or lounging. I would not recommend this to someone trying to swim laps.Swim instructor note (for guys): On the bottom left side on the flap behind the zipper, cut a small hole. When you go to teach run one drawstring of your shorts through that hole to prevent the suit from riding up and exposing your belly.Unfortunately ladies, unless you're wearing shorts this jacket won't work for you. Your belly will show the entire time and you'll be fighting the suit to stay decent. Pro tip, most female instructors I know own a rip curl jacket for the pool. It tends to fit much better in the midsection than others, even roxy or billabong.

Happy with this purchase
I’m a 5’ 10” and 175 pound guy. I purchased the medium and it is a perfect fit. It is tight when you put it on dry but you can still move freely enough. When you get in the water it immediately loosens up to the point that if I got a size larger, it would rise up from water getting in around the waste. It should feel tight when you put it on dry. Trust me it loosens up. Anybody smaller than me should consider getting the small size because you want the waste to be tight. Otherwise the water will rush in and it won’t do it’s job. Having said that, if you’re just looking for a cool looking jacket to keep you a little warmer at the beach and you don’t care much about the actual wetsuit properties, then I recommend getting a size larger. That way it’ll fit better dry.The rubber smell goes away after you use it in water. I personally don’t mind the smell of neoprene. Smells like a tire shop. If that smell bothers you, maybe don’t get a wetsuit and don’t use coozies. It looks cool. My girlfriend said it made me look athletic, which I’m not. I am however pretty slender. If you have a big belly, this might not fit right. It keeps you warm AND cool. I purchased this for camping because we go on the Delaware river. Some days it’s cool out and it makes me shiver. This jacket keeps you warm and you will immediately notice a different inside and outside the water. At the same time, it keeps you cool in the heat once it’s wet. It blocks the sun and prevents you from getting burnt and retains moisture just enough to keep you cool.I was torn between this and a shorty wetsuit but I’m really glad I went with this. It’s fairly easy to put on and take off. Can be unzippered easily to cool down. And the biggest upside to a wetsuit is you don’t have to pee in it. For $30, this is a great product.

This is a good wet suite top long sleeve
Been diving almost my entire life. In fact Im a former military diver and retired deep saturation diver. No we don't use wet suites in those categories for the most part but believe me I know wet suites. This suit has very good seams a solid heavy front zipper and fits perfect. I wear a large shirt and the large fits me perfect. It's been a long time since Ive had a good fitting wet suite top. Give this one a try. All that said I have not been in the drink with it yet, but I feel very comfortable it will hold up. It will keep me as warm as it's suppose to.

Perfect fit! Excellent quality! Cute Colors!
This wetsuit top fit perfectly. I’m 5’7”, 150lbs, and usually wear a size 10 or large top. The arm length is perfect and with just the right amount of snugness that you need to keep warm in a website. I’m really surprised that the quality is this good at this price. I had purchased 2 other tops from other manufacturers and the arms were way too short and too tight on one and the sleeves were short AND too baggy on the other. Sized right for taller people!

Men size works for plus sized lady newbie kayaker
So, as an older new-ish sport kayaker - definitely NOT someone who will be on class 4 rapids in survivalist conditions, but sedately paddling quiet rivers and bays - experts repeatedly say dress for the water temperature, NOT air temp. In case you fall in. For the plus size female weekend warrior - well, I guess overweight people aren't supposed to exercise, 'coz I sure couldn't find plus size "female" neoprene stuff easily. With hips about 57" and a 42-44 bust, took a risk on a "men's" 4XL. Yeah, it fit! Guess it was worth measuring myself and checking the size chart.OK, the arms are a bit long, but that's true for a lot of things for me. Yes, the longer length rolls up when sitting at the waist (I am 5' 3" which is borderline petite height, so clothes are always too long or too short for me - I actually like the longer length). But for kayaking IMO this is gonna do just fine, paired with neoprene pants and booties. I probably could have gotten away with a 3XL, but I wanted to be sure I had free arm movement.Read some comments about the zipper placement, I didn't notice so I guess the zipper is like a ladies and a typical "men's" zipper is on the other side? Or something. Maybe the "men's" could be considered a unisex. At any rate I liked the sturdy feeling zipper. (Personally, for swimming/scuba I would opt for a one piece top of the line neoprene suit, for the security so nothing rides up etc., but I didn't buy this jacket to scuba. It's to get out there gently sport kayaking sooner).Anyway, plus size ladies, the larger "men's" sizes might be worth a try - you won't have that hourglass woman's fit, but for me I will be wearing a life vest over anyway. And honestly I am not a fan of trying to make a fashion statement with sport equipment - tho with my grey trimmed neoprene pants and new booties, I guess I am lol. Hopefully I will never need the extra protection of a wetsuit where I go kayaking, and with the kind of kayaking I do, but better safe than sorry. Like this enough to order a second one, before all the large sizes sell out. This will probably be useful at the ocean in the fall, too, in moderate climates.

I put it on and take it off in the shower hoping to make it last longer.
The size is right, it is warmer than the last type I had and more buoyancy. From what I read in other reports, there was no itch or skin irritation. A great buy.

Good fit for a generous woman
Strong zip, stretchy, and a good fit for plump person. So arms tight but enough room for belly and boobs.
