Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga in 4k UHD & Dolby Atmos is Just Fabulous
I have always been a serious fan for all things Sc-Fi. IMHO, one the greatest Sc-Fi Movies ever made is “2001: A Space Odyssey” (Arthur C. Clarke – Stanley Kubrick). This Film is an amazing thought-provoking journey with equally amazing Visuals and Sounds, mindful its release was way back in 1968. In the mid 70’s, after watching this Film, I could not see how any subsequent film could ever compare with this Masterpiece. George Lucas changed all that in 1977 with the Release of Star Wars IV.Although I was a bit slow getting onto the Star-Wars Bandwagon, I eventually purchased the Original Star Wars Trilogy on VHS videos. These were Great Movies, at the time. Then I went upmarket purchasing the Special Edition Trilogy on NTSC Laser-Disc with AC3 (Dolby Digital 5.1) which was Fantastic. Then I purchased both the Silver and Gold DVD Boxsets of the Special Edition Trilogy. Then I bought the 6 Movie Blu-Ray Boxset with Film Cell. Now I have the latest 4K Ultra HD HDR / HD / Bonus Discs Boxset featuring 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos.Needless to say, I am somewhat obsessive, when it comes to watching / owning Star Wars Movies which produce the very best Audio-Visual experience available. This Boxset achieves the Very Best Audio-Visual Experience EVER. Although I enjoy the Prequel and Sequel Trilogies, my real love is for the Original Special Edition Trilogy. There is no doubt in my mind that this version of the Original Trilogy (Episode IV) transferred to 4K UHD/HDR is absolutely amazing for its clarity, colour and detail, on a movie which is over 40 years old. I have watched episodes I -IV with IV (The New Hope) being my favourite and can say that the Dolby Atmos Sound experience on these Movies, is absolutely Exceptional. The Packaging is a very nice dual-slide opening outer box with a sort of black rubberise texture and a nicely printed “Death Star” on the front. The Hard Cover Book within is removed by using a silk type pull ribbon. The Book outer covers are steel ’ish in colour featuring faux steel screws and Boldly Printed (Not Embossed), Centralised “STAR WARS” with “THE SKYWALKER SAGA” printed underneath. The Book itself consists of double thick Hard Card pages with nicely printed artwork scenes from each Movie. Each Right Page artwork scene has two pockets which hold the Scene-Movie appropriate 4K and HD Discs. The Bonus discs are stored similarly in the back Hard Card Pages which feature Black & White photos relating to the appropriate Movies. Also included is the Personal Message, on a semi- clear plastic letter from Mark Hamill, which is a nice touch. There are things about this Collector’s Boxset that need to be mentioned. Firstly, although described as a Limited-Edition Boxset, there is no mention of how many Boxsets are being Produced & no LE Certificate. With further scrutiny, I see this Boxset is advertised as Limited Edition (Exclusive to Amazon) which I suppose is how Amazon can justify calling this a Limited Edition, which I feel is a little bit naughty & misleading. I believe Special Edition would have been a more appropriate description of this Boxset. Secondly, each of the discs are really tight in their own pockets and require considerable pulling force to extract. I use a Micro-Fibre Lens cleaning cloth when removing the discs so as to avoid leaving finger-thumb prints of the disc surfaces. I now leave this cloth inside the Presentation Case so it is always available when required. With time I’m sure this tightness will reduce but the Micro-Fibre cloth would still be required to remove the discs safely & cleanly. The Bonus discs I have watched, up to Episode IV, have audio which does not always play as it should. I have found that rewinding for a few seconds then playing sorts this out but is rather frustrating & annoying.I purchased this Boxset primarily for the 4K UHD/HDR Formats and the Dolby Atmos audio. It would have been nice to include a Separate disc detailing the Technical Processes for Transferring these 9 Movies onto the 4K Format. Similarly, it would have been nice to have seen the inclusion of the Sequel Trilogy 3D Discs. It is strange that Film Studios are still producing 3D Movies but the equipment Manufactures are no longer supporting 3D (TV’s & Blu-Ray Players). Passive 3D “Out of Screen” experience on a 4K television is Visually just amazing. It wouldn’t surprise me if Disney decided to give Episodes I – VI the 3D treatment and produce another Boxset including the existing 3D Episodes VII – IX. As an aside, It is my view that not including the Standalone Movies, “Solo” and “Rogue One” with “The Skywalker Saga” Boxset, was the right and proper decision.Bottom Line, this is a really nice Collectors Boxset (albeit expensive), with the 4K Visuals and Dolby Atmos immersive Audio being Fabulous, making this a must have addition to any Die-Hard “Star-Wars” Collection.

The performance matched the expectation.
This box set of the Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga - Limited Edition was bought as a gift for a member of this reviewer's family. The family member is a big Star Wars fan and has bought, or had bought for him, a number of Star Wars items through Amazon. This set brought no disappointments. The box set arrived on time, was well-packaged, and was as the seller described. An excellent gift box.The set as purchased was in 4K - in order to do justice to newly acquired TV and hi-fi equipment. As expected, it is reported that, even whilst the entire set of discs have not, as yet, been viewed, the picture clarity and depth, as well as the quality of the sound, made for an all-round satisfying viewing and listening experience. The extra expense of purchasing this version, with the added extras, of the item was well justified. This Star Wars set is clearly a worthwhile addition to the growing catalogue of Star Wars productions and comes highly recommended for aficionados.

This is a truly great Star Wars Collector's Item!
Having been a Star Wars fan from since I was a kid, I was really excited to find out about the fact that all 9 movies would be coming as a single Limited box set.Initially, I was just going to get the standard Blu-Ray version, but I then decided to go with the 4K Boxset, for a couple of reasons.A) Because of the ability to watch all the movies in 4kB) Because it also comes with Behind-The-Scenes Discs for every single movieC) Because of the beautiful artbook that is exclusive with this set (P.S. The Concept Art used as the artwork for each movie in the book is my favourite part about this entire set)D) Because of the lovely letter from Mark Hamill that comes with this as well. And I can say it's well worth the purchase for any Star Wars fan.I don't really understand why there is so many negative reviews, although it could be just the people who hate the Disney movies (which I don't really get but that's a different conversation) review-bombing this.I think this is a great thing to have because of all the movies that are offered in this, plus the extras. If you have money to spare, I say go for it!
